Is it worth it

The car as a shell probably yes (depends more on how many goodies it comes with), rebuilding a rotary no. Have you considered the dark side?
Did the car "blow" or did it just die from old age? There is a difference. You can't tell how much a rebuild will cost until the motor is cracked open. Also the labor to do it is around 1000 alone. 550$ for a basic N/A rebuild kit. (doesn't include corner seals and side seals) My first rebuild costed 750$ but it didn't come out of my wallet and I did the labor (that includes the kit engine hoist and tools) My current rebuild I spent nothing so far since parts were donated from friends but I need ~150$ to finish it. but I got no job and I'm broke.
Dirt cheap no... Huge bang for the buck, hell yeah. The above is mostly poking fun, but it's also kind of true. It's damn hard to get a truly well put together rotary and they rarely last long. I actually think they're cool motors but I wanted to try something else and I wouldn't think twice about doing it over again... Check out my sig if you actually decide to consider alternate means of motivation.
