this thread delivers lol

if i were you ken, i'd learn HARD from these lessons. almost everyone here either had to learn the hard way or was adviceless when they started. so if you think about it, you're actually fortunate to have us around.

get your motor from fris and let him finish the install even if it costs extra. at least that way, he actually knows what he's doing. you can be alongside and watch as he installs your motor and learn from that.

and since your FC is your beater, make sure you actually maintain it and do the proper research on keeping it healthy. of course there are people who's more clueless than you are, but some of those people have deep $$$ and are able to afford a professional mechanic fix their problems. you on the other hand, is not one of them so you're stuck to do your hw.

Actually Ray, I am learning lots from all these lessons. I am telling you, I will eventually graduate from Noob school. I know I have to pass through **** to pass the noob stage. I am actually very fortunate to have cool ppls around. Like Wacky, he schooled me and taught me to have my engine clean, so when I swap it, Ima degrease my engine bay. he helped me out when he didnt need to. I still have the oil cooler bronze seals he gave me. He was hella cool trying to help me with my oil leak. Fumanchu, he was patient, set my *** straight for talking **** randomly to NoDrySkin, and yeah he is a cop. I know, he doesnt do smog hook ups. I just said that to get back at him since I was hurt that he set my *** straight. I didnt run away though. I am still here. Learned from that. Learns lot man. I am very fortunate, I do apprecaite. believe me, I do. I would do the same to fellow Rx7 owners.

Yeah, well to pull out the motor I think its 400, and to put it in is another 400 bucks, so that is 800 plus 600 that he is selling my the motor for. My friend is going to come over and help me do it. I will help him out. He told me he can do it. He use to do lots of swaps. He has the tools as well, all we need is a hoist/cherry picker ( and wacky, I do pop cherries, believe it or not! ) yeah I need to get it. I might rent it from Rene's muffler shop around my house. I need to go talk to him. It may take us 2 weekends to finish it. But I don't see it that complicated though. I've done a swap on a S13, and me and my friend did fine, of course with the tools as well as the hoist. But I saw the engine on the 7 and it is a little different, but the concept of swapping is still the same. I will take pics, post them up on my zanga, or my myspace.

I do give props to Fris, heard from lots of ppls that he is the ****. as in very knowledgable about how to work on rotaries, but honestly I dont have the money so he can do the entire swap. I just paid rent. I mean honestly I just have barely enough to pay him. I even tried and succeeded on giving him my engine so he can lower the price. it was 600, but lowered to 500 cause ima give him the shortblock of my car. After the swap I might keep the car, or sell it, but it should last a long time until I make up my mind, but my next car is for sure going turbo.

Also. yeah I am doing my HW right now, learning how to keep it healthy. I know its not just about oil changes, there is the 60 K tune up between others. I will have to learn since it is my daily beater. And yeah it is my beater too. This will give me discipline so when I go turbo, I will know what the **** I am doing and not be lost. Rotary is a totally diff ball game from pistons, so.. learning, that is why I got my 7. I love it!

Overall, thank you lots DoLuck for your advice. Oh yeah. I will PM you, I will take my car up to GMR once I am done with my car, I need to go there. But I quit though, Wacky is going to have me get into track with his son, he is going to lead me that direction. thanks WACKY! your the ****! even if you are taking me through school!

Thanks everyone!

oh yeah and DoLuck for schooling me!

Ken

autozone usually loans out for free. you just give them a deposit and if you return it how you got it, you get your deposit back.

^^^^^ just learn as much as you can and dont try to be everyones friend because its kinda weird how you post up 10 times direct to each person

like i said you are a okay in my book just dont post ***** like you did in a month- man when i had 500 post i was learning how to port and do rebuilds with my boy DAVE-rip and Fris giving it to anjews while we tried to concentrate on the cleaning of water jackets

Just learn as much as you can and u need to lfix that heavy foot of yours because you will always be in the never ending "I AM TRYING TO GET HER RUNNING " story
