LOL. my bad you guys. Well true... there are still people that do the 80's style. The robot and pop locking and all that... But im not much into that...
The style really has changed tho. Back in the 80's people had different up rocks, six steps, and many other old school moves.... The people at BOTY and most of the modern bboys have a differen't style of up rocking and six steps.... I don't really know how to explain it.... hopefully u get it. Just the moves back in the day... the way they do them looks so old school... Nowadays we do them differently. More lively i guess..... And plus, the music is different.... We don't do it to that old school hip hop.... We have better stuff out...

The point of Bboying and poppin is to keep the "underground" mentality when you get into a battle. bringing in your own personal flavor to the basics. No one wants to copy the other guy so you gotta come fresh everytime. this is how breakin and poppin has evolved into what it is today. its even branched out to all those other mainstream hip-hop styles but in the end those who do break, pop, lock, boog, bot, and whatever else you want to add from the 70s - 90s still use the same music from back then.
For all those in SoCal try to check out Homeland in LBC every mon and tues nights if you guys are really into it. Thats where you can find a lot of old generation bboys, bgirls, and poppers breakin it down for the young cats that are just coming into the scene.
I practice in Cal State Fullerton with a few friends almost every day so if anyone is in the OC area hit me up to get a session goin!!

Yeah. I feel u.... I get wat you guys are saying. I'm not hating... I respect everyone who breaks no matter wat style they do. everyone has their own thing i guess... And yea, you said that u like the old school stuff cuz that's what you were watching when u were first exposed to breaking. I'm only 17 and I started breaking only recently. Ive only been breaking for 4 years.... so when i was exposed to it i was watching the new modern stuff. The old school stuff i didn't like as much. But w/a, that's just me i guess.... either way, much respect for anyone that breaks!!!!!

I think I'll bring my boom box. But I don't want to carry it around 7stock so I'll leave it at Lisa's apartment and we can get it later if you guys wanna session. She lives like 10 miles from 7stock.
