Where can I find a metric drill bit in the SD area?
As the title says, I need a 10mm metric drill bit. I've called around to all the major hardware/auto stores and all of them think I'm crazy for needing one.
Does anyone know of a place that definitely sells metric drill bits in the SD area? (preferably in the Vista/Oceanside area)

Just curious, what do you need it for? I can't think of a single job that can't be done with your normal fractional/letter/number set... Metric taps work with the above and if you need a precison hole you'd be using a reamer not a twist bit.
You would think that, and so did I. Unfortunately, Sears doesn't carry them. I've never heard of OSH before. I'll see if there is one local to me.
As to what I am doing, I need to replicate the alignment hole on the subframe which is exactly 10mm.

that's odd. i could've sworn they would carry that. worst case scenerio you coudl always see if you can catch a matco or snapon tool bus at a local automotive dealership and see if s/he has one in the truck for sale.
They have it. I'm heading over there to pick it up now.
I'll see if I can find a reamer there. I know they have drill bits for sure.
If you are trying to create a 10mm round hole that is exactly 10mm and exactly round, then you absolutely do not want to use a drill bit. The tip of the bit will distort the hole and make it not round, at which point you might have just gone ahead and used the SAE equivalent.

Precision + Hand Drill = syntax error
Could possibly use a heavy duty magnetic base drill and that would greatly improve the odds of having a round hole.
