Hey Guys,
Trying to sell my back up beater.
It's a 1987 Tan Mazda Rx7, base model dual rotor .7L with about 104k original miles.
The paint is in good condition aside from their being basically no clear coat left.
Interior is in almost immaculate condition, with a 150 watt CD deck and aftermarket speakers.
There are a couple of rust spots.
Aside from a crushed in driver side fender, the body is very very straight.
It leaks oil, no need to lie about that.
The car runs fine and sometimes takes a few times to turn over, but the timing is perfect and the car just passed smog with flying colors about 6 months ago.
new shoes on rear drums, about 1000 miles on them.
Two issues to deal with are a rattling noise from just behind the transmission and a bad second gear synchro (grinds when it is cold).
It makes a pretty loud rattling noise. I thought initially it was the exhaust or the heat shield, but it is my secondary car so did not have the time or interest to investigate too hard.
The noise is not related to rpms, so i'm pretty sure it is related to the exhaust.
I'm only asking $1400 obo for the car. I paid $1700 about 9 months ago, and have had no problems. Car has a new battery, plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor and accessory belts and a very very new catalytic converter.
Car is currently unregistered, just expired in December '09. We can discuss this if you have serious interest.
Please email or call (707) 688-4580, ask for Evan

When did I put a piston engine in my car? You must have be confused with someone of greater intelligence. I'm too stupid to switch over to a motor that gets double the horse power of my rotary, triple the torque, and better gas mileage.
