meh i think if it's done right and with some class then sure they are ok.

however it seems that most people fall under the bigger and badder is better. so many widebody's look horrible.

and they add weight so i say nah.

I like the burnout kit with flared fenders. Not a full wide body, but very nice looking.

I don't believe that a wide body. The new veilside kit is a wide body. so are the Re Amemiya kits.

I dont think most people would even come close to using a FD widebody to its full potential and a lot of the styles are weird. some people have fit 285's all around on 18x10 wheels under STOCK bodywork on an FD... not many people "need" a widebody or would do it for anything other than to look cool, which is fine, just kinda silly sometimes.

FCs take quite well to widebody setups, Version Select, BMagic and Tripoint are SICK setups... you can fit some much needed tire under wider front FC fenders.

maybe I'm partial to widebody rx7's though

Ludikriss's widebody gtus looks awesome. Widebody is nice if done correctly and you have to have a good set of rims to look good.

if it set wider than stock form, is considered wide nevertheless. it isnt as extreme as your use to seing!
even though it just has fender add-ons.

some pictures. imo some widebodies can look pretty ugly, bigger isnt always better. but as socalrotor said you do need a nice set of rims. im running 17 by 10s in the back with 275s and 17 by 8s in the front with 245s and i think it fills it in perfectly.

I say keep it original. The car has great lines that were way above its time. I think that body kits were designed mainly for economy/family cars (Civics) not sports cars (Rx7s).

the best widebodies on 7s that ive seen are the RRR racing car and one of their customers 87 FC with RE Ameiya front end and sideskirts rolling on ( 10 in the front 11 in the rear ) CCWs pushing 350hp to the wheels
