I may be finding a way of getting s4 N/As smog exempt soon.

hm... actually when i went to a meeting with a couple of people from the BAR and actually asked them about this. Heres what he had to say...

They do have smog check check points on the road however they were not to catch ilegally modified cars. They simply ask you if youve have your car fail smog then repiared. If the answer is yes... they ask you when, and ask you if youd like to volunteer to get it resmoged for free to see how well of a reapir the shop perfomed. Lately a lot of shops have just been throwing cats on cars to get them to pass and if u try to remog it a couple of months later... it will most likely fail. Those shops get penalized for impropper repairs.

I was asked to volunteer to smog cars on the road but i said no thanks. However you guys are in socal and they would do some **** like that. We norcal peeps should not worry about this

And what happens if you refuse the "free' test? Or agree, but then fail it for some stupid reason?

The less interaction withthe BAR, the better, in my book - - and I run legal!

arizona is a **** hole. just because u dont have smog laws doesnt make ur state any better than ours. california has laws, arizona has diabetes. fair trade

I moved to Gilbert AZ in 07 and moved back 6 months later. Nothing to do. seems like scottsdale or phoenix was the place to be but either way...... boring. I'll take the risk of smog check points for living in a place where you can snowboard and go the the beach in the same day if you wanted to.

Sacramento does not conduct roll up smog checks, i live in sac, they do it a different way. one of my hook ups got busted cause he traded his is300 for a ls1 powered volvo wagon that needed smog, he ran a smog station, so he forged the results, went to renew registration and got slapped with it being a undercover sting car owned by the popo's.

That would be bad-***! Then I wouldn't have to smog my REPU or motorcycles any more. As bad as you CA guys think you have it, Phoenix is tougher on emissions in every way except visual.

I just got my smog check. Better than average smog for an '87 vehicle. But I still have to get it smogged every year 'cuz of fools like you guys :P. Says right on my registration that's why; high smog profile for my vehicle model.
