two stroke oil in gas tank?
You didn't search hard enough for info on how to disable your omp.
Here are your options:
1. Keep OMP, get rotary aviation adaptor. Lets you put 2 stroke oil into a seperate tank. The OMP injects it into your engine instead of motor oil. Dunno if they make an adaptor for the FB. More work up front, but simpler in the long run. Also drinks less oil b/c the OMP only injects what you need (more w/ high throttle, less w/ less throttle), and b/c it wastes less oil b/c it sprays the oil diretly onto the housings. When premixing you need to mix in enough to handle high throttle, and the extra just gets wasted during all that time you spend in low throttle.
2. Disable OMP, pour 2 stroke oil into gas tank every time you fillup your gas. Use 1 oz. per gallon. But you have to remember to pour in the 2 stroke every single time or you could ruin your engine. W/o the OMP you need to premix or there won't be any internal lubrication.
3. Keep OMP, pour 2 stroke oil into gas tank every time you fillup your gas. Use up to 1/2 oz. per gallon. Provides extra protection, especially for the parts of the housing that are farther away from where the OMP sprays the oil.
The 2 stroke oil has to be certified by such-and-such acronym, which I can't remember at the moment. That said, even Wal-Mart 2 stroke oil is good enough. You can also go fancy and get Idemitsu Rotary Premix or another synthetic 2 stroke oil. It won't cause smoking or any other problems, unless you use too much. Personally I've been using 1/4 oz. per gallon w/o disabling my OMP. I suppose I could do 1/2 oz. per gallon for better protection during all the full throttle driving I do, but oh well.
