True/False - You have to smog in the county you live in.

Sorry for the newbie questions and I've searched the forum but could not find what I was looking for.

Just as the title says; do you have to go to a smog station in the county that the car is registered in?

False, but you have to be certified to the smog requirements of your county.

Yes, for example when I was going to school in the bay area my car was still registered in San Diego so I had to drive the car to Sacramento to get smogged at a shop that met the San Diego smog requirements at that time since the bay area was on a different smog standard.
