what is the difference between an s4 t2 tranny and s5 t2 tranny. i have never the two sitting right next to each other so i was wondering are the splines different sizes. maybe different teeth count on the splines. please help.

they bolt up the same just i believe the s5 tranny has a shorter 5th gear?? or the 4th gears shorter something like that

wat im wanting to no thow is if u look at some flywheel websites and clutch sites theres times that the part numbers r different from s4 to s5 and other times there not i just didnt no if the s5 inner spline in the bell housing is different i dont care about the gear ratios.

t2 bolts up fine to t2 s4 or s5 same for n/a

The clutch plate/ flywheel's were a 1/4 inch or so different IIRC, s4 being smaller. Also the gear sets are a bit different, 5th is far more overdriven in s4 trannies that s5. Also the shifters/bushings are different too. Other than that they are the same

so basiclly get all s5 stuff then now is there anyway that i can tell the difference by looks of the trannys

Yes but I don't know off hand by looking at them..... You might want to search the 2nd gen section, or pm Hozzman, he is the guy I would talk to, he is a tranny expert! He good with cars too.....
