Tire hook-ups in SD?
Anybody in the SD area know of where I can get a good deal on Toyo Proxes T1-R's (245/45/16's)? So far, the best deal I can find is online: http://www.edgeracing.com/tires/2454516/
However, if possible, I'd prefer to just take it to a local shop.
Thanks is advance!

I personally would go with the Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 over the Toyos.
The best thing to do is go to your local Discount Tires and tell them to price match. I know the one off of Mission Gorge Rd does.

Try Bear's Tires off of Miramar Rd.
Bear's Tires
7023 Carroll Road - San Diego, CA

I've bought several sets of Falken Azenis off them at good prices. I don't think they'd stock Toyo T1-R, but give them a call and see what they can do for you. Several other local autocrossers get their tires here also.

Thanks, guys. I think I'll check out Bear's Tires, since I work 5 minutes away from it. I might wind up getting the FK 452's anyway. Anybody out there running those?

Got my TR-1's, today, and man what a difference. Thanks to the guys at wheelstores.com in Oceanside for the great pricing and service. To all the local guys, I highly recommend them for wheels/tires/suspension work. You'll get good pricing, and can be ensured in their quality of work. Seeing that they run a race team for the SPEED World Challenge (sponsored by the likes of Circuit City), I'm pretty damn sure they know what they are doing. The guys are pretty cool to talk to as well.
So having found a general mechanic in NeptuneSpeed and a suspension specialist in wheelstores.com, I'm pretty set for all my FD needs.
