sup guys

hello community! wanna introduce myself

Names Joel. I'm 18, goin to Cal Poly Pomona for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. I currently own a 03 Matrix Xr (my car sux!) and on the MatrixOwners forum, so im very familiar with the set up.
i snowboard, dirt bike, drum.... i now have an M liscence and ride around on my dads cbr 954rr. im on the Formula SAE team at my college so im always working on a car.
so, i was looking into the rx-7 cus it has always had my curiosity since my best friend's dad has one sitting in his driveway and never drives it. im hoping to buy a 91 rx-7, dont matter the model, sometime in the near future...
first thing i plan to do is restore it, then swap in a 13BT before modding it. it'll have JDM specs and wat not, both appearance and performance. i dont plan on spending money on extra things, im anti-body kits.... thats a lil too much rice for me... same for all the extra lighting and such.... basically going for a sleeper.... anywho, its a project car id like to devote my extra time and money to (im no where near rich so this project will be very lengthy..... in fact, id probly only have mod money when my tax return comes around, lol

well yea, wanted to introduce myself
see you round

you'd be better off just finding a t2 than swapping a 13bt into an n/a. there is no difference in a usdm or jdm motor, but going from n/a to t2 is a large pita.

If you want turbo, buy a turbo. It'll end up costing you a whole lot more to swap.

yeah, just don't expect to learn anything in the west region. If you want to learn stuff, check out the 2nd gen forum. This is where the misinformed hang out.

point well taken. i didnt know that the engines were the same. thought it was like: the s13 in Japan is nothing like the 240sx here. in that case... yea, i would just boost it the way it is....... till the engine takes a crap... then swap it, lol thanks for the heads up

It's not just the motor you have to worry about. The N/A drivetrain isn't built to handle much power, so you have to swap out the entire thing (for the most part). Do A LOT of research before buying. Trust me, turning an N/A into a TII is not an easy (or cheap) thing to do. The best way is to buy a TII to take the parts from. You might as well just get a TII to begin with.

Sir, that is the wrong translation.

Putang Ina Mo=I would like to polish your pipe

Please don't use that term since it's Wackysmogger's favorite thing to say and do.
