So what do we need minimum in order to get a good tune? boost controller? aftermarket ecu? wideband o2 sensor?

Please let me know because this will be the first time tuning my car.

You dont have to have a second O2 just make sure your can take yours out easily.

As for the tune here are some things you need before the tune.

...Have a second O2 bung put on your downpipe somewhere easily accesible. If you cant get another o2 bung put on then make sure yours will come out easily.

...Change your spark plugs the day before the tune as well as bring an extra set with you just incase.

...Be there early before you set tune time so your car has time to cool down so the exhaust isnt so hot when trying to handle the o2

...Make sure your car is running with no known problems, although Steve is usually more than willing to help with any situation or problem that might come up he is here to TUNE no to diagnose fix and tune.

...Obviously you need to have a tunable ECU...Haltech, PFC, Micro-Tech. ECT. do not show up with a stock ECU Steve cant do anything for you.

Thats all i can think of right now. I will start making a schedual and will post up times.

YMMV, but, here was my experience:

If you have a wideband o2 sensor already installed with some sort of display/output, Steve can use that.

If you're exhaust is straight/midpiped, Steve can run an o2 sensor at your tailpipe/muffler (at least that's what I saw with the straight exhaust folks). However, someone else may need to chime in to verify this.

If you don't fall into the top two categories, or aren't sure, follow the guidelines in this thread.

Be very diligent in your maintenance before the tune. However, make sure you bring tools, extra spark plugs, or whatever you may need anyways. I did pretty thorough maintenance on my car before tuning (oil, fuel filter, fpd, fuel lines, spark plugs, spark plug wires, vacuum lines, grounds, etc.), but I still had an issue with a pinched vacuum line, and my boost controller being plumbed in too sensitive a location. Basically, be prepared for *something* that might go wrong. During the weekend I got tuned, Steve even said that there wasn't a car that didn't have issues. However, again, please be very very diligent in maintaining your car beforehand to minimize this.

So finally got the dyno set up there is a race that weekend and there were no shops open. Chuck over at Tec3 came through for us and is opening the shop just for us to use the dyno. Price will be $110 and hour. As far as the list Im going to start that this week. Its only fair that I give the guys who are driving the farthest there choice of time. Sept. 22,23 are the go dates Location is Tech 3 http://www.tech3performance.com/

So after taking a look at where everyone is coming from this is what I have so far. First spot in the morning im giving to someone close so its easier for them to make the time. If there is conflict or you would like to trade with someone just let me know.

....................Sat.........................Su n.

9-11.........Dolphingray............Waltersaegir

11-2.........MusmoSpeed............PrimerGray

3-5.........93'Roadwarrior............Juicyjosh

5-7.............Puffyxy..................Twomuchboos t4u

If you are interested in being someone on stand-by and are free that weekend please give me a pm. I have had approx. 10 people contact me to be on stand-by I want to know who is serious so that the people who need it get it.

As well if you are on the list make sure you are there 1 1/2 hours before your tuning time also the first person for sunday should be available if time permits on Sat. to be done then. I want to maximize Steves time here and give him the opertunity to get as many cars done as possible. Thanks and if you have any questions please PM me and I will try to answer it for you.
