Yes, only if you set things up and get the 5 car minimum requirement, collect the deposits, secure a local dyno shop and work out pricing, set a date....pretty much, he'll come out if you properly organize it.

The new owner of the car was driving it home and the turbo caught fire and caused the engine to detonate so looks like he will not be making the tuning session. You can keep my deposit though.

wow, sorry to hear about that, I hope the new owner is ok. The car can always be fix/replace.

There is another person expressing interest in joining us, but we are booked tight. If it works out, I'll have them take your spot and I'll then send you a refund. I'll update you once they confirm back.

Just one more week guys, please remember to bring an extra set of plugs, change out your oil, do a thorough inspection making sure nothing is leaking, if so, please try to address it before hand.

Also show up earlier than your time slot if possible (30-60mins), to let the car cool a bit. Sometimes we do finish sooner with certain cars, and we can get started right away with the next person. I'm going to PM everyone on the group my cell number, so you guys can call me in case something arise. Please reply back with your contact number as well.

Please don't call the shop, as they will not be able to help you because we'll be renting their facility.
Bring your own tools, just in case you need to wrench or make adjustment that require tools.
Map out the shop's location before heading out, so you have an idea of your travel route.

Tech 3
70 Pullman Way,
San Jose, CA 95111

Bring cash to pay the remaining balance to the tuner and shop.

Other than that, I'll see everyone next weekend.

1. Bring cash to pay your remaining balance to tuner and dyno shop.

2. Stock turbos - get a second O/2 bung added to your downpipe and make it easily accessible.

3. Single turbos - Remove your O/2 sensor to make sure it's not seized on there.

4. Change your plugs 1 day prior to tuning, and bring extra plugs just in case of fouling.

5. Get an oil change to have fresh fluids

Anyone have a recommendation for a shop in the San Jose/Santa Clara/Sunnyvale general area who can weld in the second O2 bung for me?

It's nice to have it done to get more accurate reading, and you can also hook up a wideband down the road, but if you can't, it's not a show stopper.

I won't have an extra o2 bung with stock twins, but I do have a test pipe on the car now and the existing o2 bung is easy to get to. I don't have time to do anything different.

I just changed the oil and checked all of the fluids last weekend. No leaks and the new engine (and new everything else) finally has 1,000 miles on it.

Anecdotally, I'm not having a extra bung welded onto my dp. Car is mostly oem running factory boost levels, it'll be fine.

@cymfc3s, your silver FD is super clean!

Adding to the positive feedback shared by cymfc3s, thank you Phong for making the arrangements with Steve Kan and Tech 3. I had a great time talking about cars with Phong, Steve and the crew at Tech 3 (especially with the owner of the R32 GTR).

I've waited since June to have Steve tune my FD and the wait was well worth it! My car has never ran smoother. I was smiling like a kid during Christmas on the entire drive home!

Thanks!

Just wanted to add my thanks Phong and Steve for making the day work so well. I especially appreciate the experience and advice on mid-pipes - was just reviewing the options you both suggested.

I've already had the car out for some road WOT reference logs - it has never run better, and I'm looking forward to the extra performance at the track!

I also wanted to thank Phong for setting this up at Tech3. As always, Steve did a great work on my car and I look forward to getting it back on the track.

On my 94 FD (my friend Nick G. brought it to the end for me) with stock twins, Steve got it up to 340hp and 295tq, which is right where I wanted to be at with the stock twins. I just need to upgrade my cooling as the twins and the iron exhaust manifold quickly overheats the engines. Eventually, I will go up to a single turbo, but I am happy with the power for now.

The car drives and idles so much better than before, thus I am happy.

Thanks Phong for making this happen!

Chris

Thanks everyone that was part of this tuning session, special thanks to Steve, Tech 3 and crew. Sorry I didn't get to meet everyone, but I'm glad to hear about all the positive results. Enjoy the tune, on and off the street, and those track cars.

Stormclad - I'm going to issue you a refund because of the special circumstances. I'm hoping you get it to the new owner to help with the repairs.
