As Rodney King said, "Why can't we all just get along".
All,
As the center of all this, please let this die.
Two good guys with strong opinions clashing is all that this is. Both maybe right in part depending on your own opinions, both maybe wrong in part depending on your own opinions.
In my laymans opinion (I'm no engine builder) I suggest that the core of all this is the ongoing debate of is it ok to use irons where (if I’m saying this correctly) the Nitrate has been lapped off but still in spec otherwise. Of course you get a longer lasting rebuild if you can use the irons that just need a good elbow grease cleaning without lapping them so the nitrate remains. That’s why Mazda designed that process in the first place. But, is it a bad rebuild if you do?
Mazdatrix seems to be of both minds. Their "A" spec rebuild is $2,180 (or about what Robert might have expected), while their "C" spec rebuild is about $4,000 (MORE than the $3,000 estimate Dave suggested). Anybody want to debate Mazdatrix's reputation?

Either way, this is simply another example of why there is such a thing as debates.
Both of these guys have excellent reputations in their own right. I can say, from my personal experience, both ARE good guys who have been beyond helpful to me at different times. Both ARE guys who I would go out of my way to help them out, as both know. Unfortunately, this thread exposes both reputations to out of context conclusions by others which are just not fair to either Dave or Robert.
I do have my opinion on all this, but I choose to follow the path suggested by Rotolution and keep it off board where in MY opinion it belongs.
Again, please let this die.

Ok, this thread is cleaned up showing the only post that really matters.
The facts are, Hozzman isn't mad at Dave nor does he think that he's being ripped off. Dave is a good business man who does incredible work at great prices. Now if there is any more trash talking then refer to my "Warning to Trolls" thread for the consequences.
