Angry Smog Help In Fresno!!

Well I just failed the damn smog test at a test only center! He says "You can't just cut off the precat. You need to take it to a muffler shop and figure out what you're doing with that exhaust."

He saw my downpipe and didn't even bother with the rest of the test. First time I've used this place because I just moved here. The other FD friendly place is about an hour north of here and I'd prefer not to drive it for just a smog test.

Anyone know of a "FD friendly" smog/test only center in Fresno or Clovis??

Do you know if they flag it in the system so that if you take it elsewhere the other test center will know that you failed? I really want to avoid having to put the DP off and have to put it back on after the test.

Thanks.

You know, if you only have to do a smog check once every two years the one hour trip won't kill you.

No it won't kill me. But I'd prefer to have that one as a back up if needed rather than my only option.

is driving 1 hour anywhere that bad? Seriously, I spend that going from USC to Sherman Oaks everyday.

Honestly, brother, just drive to where you know will work.

smog tests must be performed within a radius of where you live

Nah, none that I'm aware of unfortunately. Ricks Rotary in Pleasanton (I think) is probably the closest.
