smog expiration?

if i was to sell my car after owning it for 2 months, would the smog check that was originally done when i first bought the car, work for the next owner? or does he have to go get it re-checked?

Depends on different states. In California, it's 90 days. The smog you would want is the "transfer of ownership" and not the "renew registration" smog. If you turn in the renew registration one, the DMV won't accept it, turn you down and make you smog it. Hope that helps.
