www.sigalert.com

Honest. You can get it on your cell phone if it is internet capable. I use it all the time both on my computer and on my cell (blackberry actually). Specific maps for all part of california as well as a map for Phoenix

Green dots are good, blue are ok, yellow not so good, red is bad.

Not sure how historical data might help. The obvious is anywhere near shopping malls and freeway convergences. Everything else is hit and miss primarily caused by accidents and road construction.

Sigalert has an accidents tab that will tell you where not only accidents are and when they occured, but also road construction sites related lane closures.

If an accident just happened, for sure stay away. If it happend a good time before, so made it to a KFWB traffic report, you might get lucky if you go there anyway what with maybe an hour lead time of cars avoiding that location where the damaged cars are actually already towed away.

well i'm going rush hour, so i know itll be bad, i just don't know how bad.

I need to go a stretch of like 30 miles with three or so freeways. the main one im concerned about is the 210...that **** is always packed to the seems.

however i usually head west and i know how bad that is, but never headed east, which is what i need to do...so not really certain in what timeframe it clogs..

i know 210 can be jammed one min and clear another..or slightly clear depending on the time frame, regardless of accident or not.
