but if they're denying customers, they must be pretty well off.

That sounds a bit odd. Chinky7 have you tried dealing with any other shops? If they don't want to take your car then it's their loss of money. I'd go somewhere else if I were you.

well, this is how it is, i got the car from this guy, and he said he did some work to it, and it ran, but NOT REALLY WELL, i got it for $1000 so it was one hell of a deal, o yea, its a 89 turbo 2. but yea, so i got it, i drove it home, the **** was LOUD cuz it was stright piped, and i dunno. it just ran, but it would die if the idle drops too low. so i got the car thinking i would spend like $2000 into it to fix up the engine and learn how to drift with it, but i took it to 2 local rotor shops, and they both turned me down!!!!! so i dunno what to do now, and i dont think its registered........i just moved here not too long ago, sooooooo dose CA have differant laws and ****? like how much would they charge me if i have a expired tag and stuff???

do you have a list of what the other shops told you the car needs?

if it has internal engine issues then $2k won't cover just the rebuild alone.

mmmm im not sure. what the guy i bought it off of, he said he like rebuilt the f*ckin thing,...................sooooo i dunno, and the shop said theres too many variables to figure out, so how much do u think, i think its jsut better off if i get the whole motor taken out, and rebuilt. i think thats the only way to garentee that its no problems

i doubt he rebuilt the motor and sold it for only $1k, parts for the rebuild alone would be close to that range.

for me to rebuild it and reinstall it without even looking at the other issues with the car it would be $2300+ and i am booked for rebuilds currently.

haha you must be dreaming for 2k to fix a fc. and yeah i think you'd lose that 2k driving that thing unregisterd around the street. california cops are known for ticketing your *** for the stupidest things.

Paul at Rotorsport is a great mechanic and yes, when I was there last week they were up to their ears in FD and FC's.

Another alternative is Mike at Mr. Mazda in Cambell. He's a standup guy. 370-2328. And there's also PR Motorsports in Hayward.
