This Saturday's Meeting.
Hey guys, it's that time of month once again. This Saturday is our March meeting. I ask that you please try and attend this months meeting for i have a VERY important anouncement that will affect all club members. I normally call most of the members to remind them of the meeting, but my cell phone is broken right now so i don't have most of your number with me. So please spread the word to others to attend this months meeting. Thanks to all and i'll look forward on seeing you all this Saturday.

that they want to do alternate meets one every first saturday of the month and then the next meet would be a sunday...
Im not feeling it...and it's going to throw everybody off...just stick to what works...not everybody wants to go to a car meet on a sunday...

yet not every body can go on a sunday...that thread was started a month in advance and look at the turn out...people were able to make proper planning for the saturday meet, and look at how well it turned out...there were people from way down south people from east san diego imperial beach campendelton so on and so forth...Why switch it up for a couple of people who can't get off work for others who don't have to work or are able to get the day off of work on a saturday...

But the way i feel in my opinion the little anouncement that was made at the meet was a personal attack due to the fact that sometimes you have to work...and i don't think it's fair for others to have to adjust to other people's work load, then on top of that alternate the meet days between first saturday or first sunday of the month... Doing this is going to throw people off with out a doubt...First saturday of the month meets have been going on for years with no problems...Some saturdays are big, other saturdays meets are small...it's just the way the world turns and that's the way the ball falls...

You're representing the group of people that come to these meets as a bunch of idiots, implying they're incapable of attending a meet on any day other than Saturday because it will "throw them off with out a doubt." Speak for yourself, not for others.

wow...take it easy turbo...cause the only person that was pulling the strings yesterday at the meet was jimmy boy with his public anoucement about alternating the meets from saturdays to sundays every other month...And as i recall he made a personal comment about "I can't come to every Saturday meet"...
And the blatantly obvious comment you so called call it is an opinion...Im entitled to them and so are you and so was everybody else at the meet and on this forum...No one spoke up or had anything to say...
The world won't come to a screetching halt my friend if the saturday meets got turned into sunday meets every other month...life as we know it will go on, the world will keep on turnning...

I think the main issue was that instead of some dialogue about the issue/situation, a decision was made without a consensus from the main body who it effects. I don't think people had much to say about the matter because frankly, they don't want to appear rude and cause a scene in public. Some people are barely comfortable being around that many people, but still make it a point to come. Speaking in front of a large crowd like that might be too daunting of a task.
I will say this; there were a lot of funny faces made and Mel was brave enough to say in not so many words "Uh, is everybody cool with this??". Obviously not everybody can make a Saturday meet. Commerce and society still moves on that day and people still need to be at work. I'm sure a solution or an agreement can be made re: meet dates and times.

I do agree, however, that there should be a poll, let everyone decide what THEY want to do, instead of you deciding for them.
For me? It does not matter either way. I'm all for the alternating meets, but if it's an inconvenience for the majority, then fine, I don't mind making 15minute appearances once a month. I would like to hang out for more than 15 minutes though, and there's those I'm sure who would like even show up.

we can go back and forth all day with this gross polluter..you came out no where with your comments and it kinda threw me back in the seat here while i was reading it...I have no problem with you...but the more you post and keep this little bitch fest up the more i lose intrest in talking with you here on the forum or at any of the other future meets, and i don't want it to boil down to that because you have read in-between the lines of what i was trying to say... I enjoy the company of fellow rotor heads and your self and i enjoy the meets plain and simple...

Don't you think it's slightly immature that you take a meeting suggestion as a personal attack? Someone pointing it out? You don't think it's just a little too uptight to take things you read on the internet seriously?

now to the point. i believe i was the only one that made a comment when jim made the announcement. i at the time commented on and still feel that alternating the days will throw a lot of people off/confuse people.
now a couple things to take into consideration. sundays are a horrible day for some to attend a car meet. some go to church which would tend to fall around the same time as the meet and make it impossible to make it. others sunday is a family day. people like me have one day they spend with friends/family significant other away from cars and other "work" related things. i literally have one day with my b/f that doesnt involve cars. does that matter to everyone else? no it doesnt but im just saying we all have personal lives that are effected in some way by what day the meet is.
i understand there are people like jim that may have to work on saturdays. but the point is and what i think teddy is trying to make a point of was that the issue was not discussed with the whole club. it was decided between two or three people and that was it. things cant run smoothly and there are going to be hard feelings if everyone isnt included in such a large decission.
