i used to bead blast housings during the rebuilds but found it impossible to clean the glass bead completely out so i only bead blast external peripherals now to prevent the possibility of any glass making its way into the engine. they do look good after a good blasting though!

Ultrasonic cleaners are typically used to clean jewlery among other things. You basically put your part in a tank of fluid (non-corrosive) and the tank is vibrated at high frequency to free any particles stuck to the part. I'm sure there are places here in San Diego that do it for parts as big as housings and end plates. Should be in the phone book.
