San Fran vacation

I'm going to be going to San Fran for vacation the week of 4th of July. Anyone know of any great places to see or things to do (that's not in the common travel guides)? Anyone let me borrow their FD for a day or two?

KSU? Are you a Wildcat?

Golden Gopher.

I can send you directions to really fun driving roads. Lucky I have an FC. You wouldn't like it.

Yes, I'm a Kansas State Wildcat Alum. I'm only renting a car for a day (I'm going to Muir Woods). Just wish I could drive along the coast in any (preferably my) FD. A rental economy car just won't be much fun.

The road to Muir woods is fun. You could make a quick detour on 1 up there. That's where 1 gets fun. HWY 1 is tame down where I am in the bay. Enjoy your trip. Muir woods is beautiful.

Rentals... Lol I once dated a girl that I got into racing. BIG mistake. Week before a track day.

Girl "Is my car going to be ready?"
Me "I'm working on... Wait, these are my cars!"
Girl "Oh yeah. Well is my car going to be ready."

Thursday before the weekend. I have to tell her that my second car won't be ready. Girl was super bummed but I told her to go to the airport and rent a car. Lol.

Middle of her second run I see her go into the pits. I run up next to her.

Girl "It's getting real loose."
Me "Oh yeah you aren't used to pushing all season tires."
Girl " Well what do I do?"
Me " Get your moneys worth!"

She literally drove the tires off of it. A buddy rode along with her and she was four wheel drifting he thing trying to stay with prepped machines. lol. I wish I still had the pictures. Tread looked like and Dali painting. Brakes were completely fried.

Drove it back to the rental place. The person checked it off and Off we went. Lol.

-namu for dinner, bi-rite creamery right next door
-off the grid (friday's at fort mason, food truck gathering)
-alameda sushi house or joy's sushi, gotta get the lion king roll
-visit the embarcadero and eat at hog island oyster farm
-if you're a baseball fan, regardless of what team, watch a giants day game, it's a WHOLE different experience, WAY more than just a game, the crowd is crazy and every game of the season is sold out, you'll have fun just being around the people, find tickets on craigslist, eat a crazy crab sandwich, get some garlic fries and a beer

-alameda county fair (it's there for the whole week)
-go kart racer in burlingame or malibu grand prix for slower outdoor go kart/mini golf/arcade
-watch fireworks in foster city, san mateo, but be warned, LOTS of people and takes about 1-2 hours to leave the city to get back on the highway if you leave late
-visit "THE SHOP SAN BRUNO", they specialize in RX7-LSx swaps and have some bad *** RX7's at the shop currently

you could find everything on www.yelp.com
