San Diego - June Mtg (etc.)
Our "regular" monthly meeting is this Saturday, June 4th. Check the links below for the usual details and directions to Bennigan's.
Lunch about 11:45am. RSVP to let me know you might attend.
San Diego RX-7 Club Events
SoCal RX Club Events
Hope everyone had a great, safe Memorial Day and weekend ! I certainly did !!
Spent the weekend in Nevada at
Reno-Fernley Raceway with Track Masters. Afternoon thunderstorms were predicted, but nothing came up. Not even a drizzle. Weather could not have been better.
Only RX-7 around. (A pic is attached.) Would have been nice to see more interest in this track event. Lot of 'vettes, 'stangs WRX's, Porsches and Radicals. The track is a bit intimidating at first, but you do get the hang of it after a while. Course was run counter-clockwise. 20 deg. banked bowl at the bottom left. Easily hitting 100+ mph going into the esses at the end of the main straight, center, top of picture. Radicals hitting 130+!
Anyway, back to the subject at hand ...
Meeting this Saturday. Let's relive the Karting Challlenge. Bring your event pictures if you have them.
Stay tuned for a special July meeting, July 2nd. It will likely be a BBQ at one of the local racer shops. (Anyone with a Sony PlayStation to network??!!)
See ya Saturday,
John

Hey John,
How about joining us for 2 days at Thunderhill Raceway at the end of the month? This is a NASA event.
That's about 90 miiles north of Sacramento, in Willows, CA.

Sounds like it would be fun. I have not run Thunderhill yet. However I think my FD is taking a short leave of absence from track days for the summer. It just gets too damn hot. I'm planning to go to Spring Mountain in October with the PCA. You should come to that! It's a fun track and fun bunch of guys.
