I have attached a map of our run. The route in RED is the one we're taking, with the profile as indicated. We start at the Park 'n Ride in La Mesa; one we've used previously. If you don't see the "Lips" then you you haven't quite arrived.
La Mesa Lips
The run is about 100 mi. (Not counting arrival and return.) and will take us through Lyons Valley, then out Old Hwy 80 to east county and a variety of other roads. Lunch will be about 3/4's of the way through. The run will end in Pine Valley at Major's Diner. From there it is an easy cruise on the Interstate back home.
Here is a link to a similar run we did a while back.
Old Hwy 80 Cruise, Feb 2006
This run isn't just for rotaries, so if you know anyone who likes to drive, let them know.
If you have any questions, drop me a line.

Revised: April 19, 2009
General
Sunday, May 31stth at 10:15am, sharp, we’re off! Check below for departure point and driver’s meeting time.
We will be making another run again over familiar roads. The run is about 100 mi., not counting getting to the starting location and returning from the trip’s end. We will be heading through Lyons Valley, along Old Why 80 and even on Hwy 94, though east county. See the map below for route and profile.
Bring FRS radios, w/ privacy codes, if you have them. It is much easier to keep in touch. There will be times for breaks and fuel stops.
I will pre-run the drive to get a better estimate of timing, but cannot guarantee that. Just be flexible and plan on a day’s event. You can always depart early, but just let someone know.
If you are into mapping / GPS applications and care for a dump of the information, drop me a note. I have a Garmin GPS V unit and utilize MapSource v6.13.4, as well as National Geographic TOPO! v4.2.8. The latter was used to create the maps provided herein. Sorry, I do not have the current ability to import into Google Earth and provide that data.
If you have any questions, drop me a note or post on the rx7club.com forum, at the appropriate thread.

Hey Mike,
How come ya just didn't post the link to the other announcement?
Like here: http://where-yat.net/sdrxc/Next-Drive.htm ?
For those of you who know Google Earth, check out the attached file. Just unZIP it and double-click on the resultant file. Be sure to play the TOUR in Google Earth. Get an aerial view of the upcoming drive.

LOL this was my poor attempt at it
i tried to edit when i realized it and it locked me out
Not sure if I'm going.. are the corners sharp? what was the avg speed of the last cruise? I don't want to kick out on the corners going too fast.
Mikey wanna meet up so I can follow you up? I get the feeling I'm going to get lost trying to find the lot.. blind leading the blind..

Do you have clear enough directions to get to the starting point?
- John
As far as the average speed, I really don't know. I just worry about the overall time for the event. I'll have a good idea on that after I pre-run the route.
Sounds good. The car I plan on taking kicks out really easy at any speed.. I'll most likely show to this. I tried the google earth thing but all it did was give me a top view? am I doing it wrong?
- Go under \Tools\Options
- Select the Trouring tab.
- See the "Creating a tour from a line" section.
- Tile angle: This is measured from the vertical. That is, 0 deg. is looking straight down. Select 60 deg. or so to start. Perhaps less.
- Camera range: You cannot run this as if you are in the car. Settle for 600 m. as a start.
If you have double-clicked on the file and Google Earth is open, you will see the new item / route under \Places\Temporary Places.
- Click on the "+" by the globe and the cruise.
- You will then see three pink dots tied together. This repressents a route. Highlight this. (Click on once.)
- The slider and the icon to the right are used to start the tour. Adjust the slider for transparency of the route overlay.
- Then click on the three little dots. (The ones where the RIGHT-point arrow shows.)
- The tour shouls play.
Hope this helps.
While this is not a driving simulation of the route, it gives one a pretty good idea of what to expect. But not everything.
Made the run last Sunday and everything looks great!
Roads are good; only one pothole to watch out for - Hwy 94, north of Jamul.
Latest update on the drive is located at the link below.
Drive Information
The restaurant is very good; definitely NOT expensive. Much variety. Burgers look pretty good. Besides, there are a couple of rotorheads working there! Our kind of people.
Promises to be a good drive. I will be looking for a head count so that I can advise the restaurant, so drop a line if you will be going. Be sure to check out the Google Earth tour, the GPS route or the maps. All available for downloading.
See ya on the 31st. If ya got any questions, shoot me a line.

The paper / announcement at the link above has your info. Just over 100 miles. If you're looking for time, never bothered to really figure it out. A SWAG is probably 3-4 hrs. Not really counting getting to the start and returning home. May account for part of lunch and a few stops. I don't blast through without some rest breaks.
Hope this helps.
Later,
John
