So your worried about losing your next race that's coming up or something if you don't have the nitto NT-05 tires?

Do you Auto-x or something?

If not then why the hell do you just have to have the NT-05 tire's on the street?

It seems like a great tire for someone competing in a street class, but I see no point in spending so much money on such a sticky tire for a strictly street driven car. A quick google search and I estimated for a set of 4 in a 17" 40 235 size would cost around $700 or so installed.
That's a hell of alot of money for tires on a car that im guessing rarely if ever get's used to it's full potential on a race track.

Yes they are supposed to be the best tire for a street class race car/high end street car, but not everyone has to have them just because they are the best tire out right now.

I wonder how you survived before the NT-05's came out if you will never and maybe have never lowered your standards
Although your choice in an Rx-8 as a "fast" car with your high standard's doesn't make much sense to me either...

That is unless you beleive your Rx-8 to be fast....then by all means buy them and lets go for a run up salmon falls/49 at the next month's meet and have 2 groups setup. 1st group will be the fast paced group 2nd will be the guys just wanting to cruise

PS.
Yes i'm in a fightin mood lately, not sure why
Must be the new found power i've recently unleashed from my engine....

Aaaaaannnnnnnndddddddddddd

back on topic.

Is everyone who is on the list still going to be there tomorrow evening?
If there's 10 cars on the list, 4 actually show up but a few others who have not even replied to the thread randomly show up...

You obviously have no idea who you are talking to. So I'll ignore your entire ignorant post. The degree it signifies you as a douche is beyond comprehension and any further acknowledgment of the pointlessly stupid statement you gave hold no ground for rebuttal..

And lol at "new found power'...

Oh, if you are wondering how I survived before the NT-05s came out:

I ran NT-01s.

No testosterone.. Just giving him the heads up not to confuse my automotive knowledge or history with my post count...

As far as "problems with tires" what would you be referring to? In what kind of setting? Street, strip, or track?

I mean you seem pretty set on getting some NT-05's just curious on if its because you had issues before that were solved with the NT-05's or if your current experience with the series of tires has just always been good. Also just looked up those are some expensive tires lol. I'll probably stick to some eagle F1s when it comes time for new tires.

Also like to add that I will be there tomorrow.

When it comes to tires, money isn't an option for me. The difference you'll notice with a good set of tires rivals and surpasses ANY suspension mod you can do to your car.. You get use to ridding around on an R compound such as the NT-01s the car has on it now and you drop too far down you simply wont be happy, its a drug.

I have had Advan048s, Toyo R888s, Azenis 615s, Kuhmos, Hoosiers and a mix of other offshoot brands such as Hancook and BFGs and I have seen the ups and downs of each.

My Advans were the best I had used until I bumped to the NT-01s but just like the Advans they have horrible tread wear. The NT-01s are 100 tread wear rated tires. The Toyos were a nice street tire but chunked on the track and just didn't cut it. I don't remember the brand Kuhmos I ran but until you heat cycled them and rand them HARD they were sloppy. Grip picked up later but it was too little too late. The 615s were the opposite, beautiful on the street and off the starting line but once you heat them up it feels like someone greased the track.

I had the privilege of running a set of NT-05s on a friends Evo X and it was night and day from the 615s he once had. I can definitely push the car farther than even what the typical person would feel safe but the tires were what gave me the confidence to do so. Of course the driving characteristics of the car are a lot different compared to my 8 (rwd vs awd) but the difference can be noted. All in all I rather not go backwards. I have lots of shows to attend and with the miles the car will be seeing now I do not have the luxury to run an R compound on the street so I am in turn looking for the next best thing. I don't like cheaping out on important components, if it really didn't matter to me much I'd just pick up a '88 turbo TII beater on the side and build it up.

Oh and as far as Hoosiers and BFGs go, I still run em, but only on my DSM

Hoosier QTPs

BFGs

Well now, your one of the few Rx-8 owners who have actually done something with their car.

The statement of your tire issue and your low post count made you out to be the other 98% of Rx-8 owners who buy it because they beleive it's a fast car then put on some sort of bodykit and a rear wing with some vinyl decals and an exhaust and intake and think theyre the ****.

No harm intended, I just can't stand that 98% of Rx-8's.
Let alone the vast amount of Rx-7 owners who are like that along with all of the other ricers running around this area.

Where have you been hiding this whole time?
Also what all do you have done to that car of yours?

New found power-
Well, 7 psi on this new turbo put down 200 RWHP. I'm now boosting 10-12 lb's and it sure as hell pulls harder than ever before, which is my referance to new found power. Another $1500 for a PFC and 1000cc injectors will get me up to my 16 lb mark and hopefully over 300 RWHP. Sadly it still doesn't have the torque of the other V12 powered car in my garage, maybe I can get it to go out with us to a meet sometime soon

ha ha nice little story there. Seriously though was just curious why you wanted them so bad lol. I haven't been through many different tires yet so my only experience with a somewhat performance tire was the Eagle F1s I had on my TII. Might experiment with another brand of tire the next time I need to replace them.

Anyway hope to see you and some other 8 owners at the meet man!

I understand waht you meant, thats why I didn't take offense to it and go on a tirade..

The car right now is built for track, and consist majorly of suspension mods. It was infact boosted at one point hence my screen name, but that was short lived because the route I wanted to go for this car is much better served either n/a or with a supercharger. My Talon will be my only turbo'd vehicle.

I then completely agree then that you get on their asses for getting you those 555's instead of the NT-05's like you requested as they are definately the tire needed for your car

I'm guessing you got rid of your stock rims so you can't get a cheap set on those to atleast drive around on while you wait for the NT-05's to arrive?

I have a few set of rims/tires but the ones I'd prefer to rock to the meet are the Zigens and those are my track rims as well..

I could always slap my blacked out SSRs 18s wrapped in r888s back on but thats too much hassle lol.

My tires have some issues, I dunno if I'm going but if I do I have to take the surface streets. No freeway..

And thats too far as is, and twice as far on surface streets... I might just have to pass.
