rx7 cheap to own ?

well it all depends on how you drive i guess ,my last 2 rx7 have'nt needed anything but oil changes and plugs (same as any car).
The 1st gen i got got $800 (gsl-se) ran it for a year with just a oil change and some plugs then sold it and picked up a mint FC for cheap (it gets 20-22mpg with a/c) and the only money ive spent on it is for mods. (i could drive it all year and sell it for the same as i bought it for)
I would say it right there with my 94 toyota pickup (22re/5spd/4x4) which is bulletproof.
now if you buy a roach rx7 then no, its not going to be cheap to own, but i've been in the rx-7 game since 1991 so i know what to look for.

fb-fc-fd does not matter what you drive from the three generations of rotary powered car. It is a misconception that FD are a Financial Disaster. You just do regular oil changes like any other cars and not **** with all the B>S mods trying to break the land speed record with a 14years old car the FD can be a very low buck daily rotary ship. All the people telling horror stories about Their FD and how it's a Money pit!!! Hell stop F in Modifying it then. The misconception could be said about a Ford pinto for all I am concerned, Start with a piece of **** car(FD) or any other car and try breaking the land speed record with it and then tell me another story how expensive it is.

Cars are flawed in stock form. EVERYTHING must be modded!
jk. My pretty happy with my drivetrain setup. Its plenty fast, and i dont run into much competetion on the highways. I want to do one or 2 very minor mods to the engine(a better intake manifold and ported TB) and say finished.
Now i'm just trying to make the car cleaner. get rid of the dents, fix the interior, paint the car, etc...
Then i'll move on to my next project. My GF wants me to build her a Cobra kit car.
i'm thinking Ls2 and Silver paint.
