Rotary Fest South Bay Caravan Thread

This is a thread dedicated to those from the South Bay who want to caravan to Rotary Fest. Lets get some ideas/times going around and we'll decide on a place and meet up there and head to SF. Anyone want to do this?

Hm, what? South Bay refers to the San Jose/Los Gatos/Santa Clara type area. South Bay Area. I think you misread the thread and thought I meant Southern California. Or maybe I do not understand what you're saying.

If we are using 880, let's meet up at miliptas square or cisco parking lot.

Which ever is going to be easiest for most people to get to will be the place we go. I think I know what you're talking about. Milpitas square is like ranch 99 and best buys and stuff right? And cisco is right by there?

We need to get a path of getting up there first and then from there we can set pit stops along the way so we can pickup those who want to join. What would be the best/easiest way to get there?

Alright, so I got some directions and it says for us to take 85 North and then get onto 101 North and take that to SF. So I'm thinking we stop in Cupertino at Memorial Park which is right across from De Anza Community College. We get there around 10:30 or so, meet/wait for 30 min and then leave by 11:00. It's right off of 85 there so it won't be hard to find.

Get back onto 85 and then go straight to the meet or we can find one pit stop along 101 to pickup whoever else around whatever time we get there.

Are you guys willing to do this?

Ok so lets set this up.

I think it is best for us to meet up at the Milpitas Square since most people agree to meet there.

So since the meet starts at 12 and I really don't want to be one of the first there, we can meet up at Milpitas Square at 11:30ish? Wait 10-20 min, and then leave there?

What is everyones thoughts?

If I am thinking of the right place, Milpitas Square is a pretty big place, where in Milpitas Square would you like to meet?

That is a great idea. Are you going to be leading the group if so we should probably exchange numbers and try to get estimated times so we can come up with a time to meet up

Alright, so to confirm things, we are going to be meeting in Milpitas Square. Now if you've ever been to Milpitas Square, there are two sides basically. The side with Ranch 99 and the side with Best Buys. We are going to be meeting on the side with Best Buys. The parking lot is big, so instead of meeting in that lot, McDonalds is located in that same lot and I feel as though it would be better to park around there since it's not such a big lot. When you go into the lot you should see the McDonalds. I'll get an address soon and post it.

I don't know the time yet but we will be meeting up with the SLO/So Cal caravan at the same place. They are leaving around 5a.m. from down South and going to be in Gilroy by 9a.m. They will have breakfast there and then head to where we are, so I'm guessing by 12ish or 12:30 they should be in Milpitas right there. I have his number so we will keep everyone updated.

Please leave your name if you are going to attend the caravan.

41 Ranch Dr, Milpitas, CA 95035

That is the address of the McDonalds so keep that to get directions there.

Here is a map of the place and the circle is McDonalds. You can see the parking lot is easier to find and not as spread out.

To everyone who is planning on eating at Rotary Fest... We have decided that it would be much easier and cheaper over all to grill up some food at the event. But there is no way that I can front the money to buy this much food. So I'm asking that if you plan on eating that you paypal $5 per person that will be with you to cover the cost of food. Please be sure to include your forum name with the paypal because I am going to send you an email "receipt" that you will need to turn in when you go to get your food. I wish that I could just front the money for the food and take the $5 per person at a registration table like we have been doing, but hey the military doesn't pay me that much! Thanks in advance everybody. My paypal address is boostedrex@gmail.com

Where is the back of In-n-Out? Is it on the map there? Only worry is that In-N-Out's are really busy usually especially during the day. McDonald not so much.

BUMP for more people to join in the caravan!

We are supposily meeting up with the so-cal rx7 caravan there hopefully around that time. The guy said they are leaving so cal around 5a.m. and then going to be in gilroy by 9ish and they are going to have breakfast for an hour or so, and then hopefully be in milpitas by the time I said.

I'm thinking if they make it to Gilroy by 9, eat for an hour or more so they leave Gilroy by 10:10-10:20ish take about how long to get to Milpitas? another hour or two? That makes it them getting there around 12:30ish. If we meet there at around 12:00 or 12:30, wait 20-30min for people who are late and the So-Cal caravans leave Milpitas by 1. Is that fine with everyone?

I'm aiming for 12:30. That should give the So-Cal carvan enough time to get to Milpitas without having to rush their breakfast or anything, and we can get something to eat at the Mcdonalds there for lunch while those running late show up. How's 12:30 sound with meeting and then leaving at 1?

I'll look for you guys at the parking lot. I'll be the guy in a Montego '93.

Y'know, this one in Union City is a little easier to find/closer to the freeway. We've had a bunch of Miata meets there.

We're going to keep it at the McDonalds here. I am still getting a certain time. The So cal crew is saying that we should meet there at 11:30, eat/meet for 30 minutes, and then leave by 12. So for now, the new meet time is 11:30a.m at that McDonalds there where we will eat and meet each other for 30 minutes and then leave at 12ish to the meet.
