I know this is short notice but I'm taking a last drive with a friend before he leaves the state. Plus my time is short before I go overseas in a few months. If anyone else would like to join up then come on out. It will have to be an early to mid-day drive but that might make for lighter traffic. Okay here's the plan...

The first leg will be to meet up at Old Sac and take curvy levee roads along/over the river and thru wine/farm country and end up at Brannan Island State Rec area. The park is nice with lots of parking and nice facilities. It's close enough for folks from Sac and Vacaville plus Bay area folks if interested. There's gas and food in a nearby town.

The second leg is optional. I've driven all these roads and they are fun, curvy and scenic. Specially around Hwy 49 as you travel the backbone of the mountains. It's a no brainer if you live in Sac. Folks from Vacaville or the Bay can easily return home via Hwy 50. Driving from Hwy 50 to Auburn is really nice and you can view the bridge where Vin Diesel jumped his vette in Fast and the Furious over the American River.

Making a stop in old Folsom or old Auburn is nice if you want to bring your gf or wife and walk along the old western motif store fronts for window shopping and restaurants. Even if you don't decide to go... it's worth checking out the drive at your own leisure.

If you have questions then message me or call my cell 951-490-9748. I plan to be at Old Sac by 8 am and arrive at the park around 9am. If there is enough interest for the drive or meeting up at the park then I don't mind delaying things by 1.5 hours. If so, then I'll probably have to ditch the second leg because of later commitments. This will be similar to the fun run that Boosted Rex and I did a while back... safe, spirited driving and stopping points to relax, take pics and eat.
