Did you find out which part caused the parking brake to fail? You didn't leave it in gear?

Since it doesn't work, can you take it off and give me the handle?

Do you feel tension when you pull it out or does it feel like there is no cable pulling on it?

Maybe it just needs retightened.

Once i had my car in drive and the e-brake up and the torque of the car broke thru the ebrake, and after that, it never worked as well. You may just need an adjustment
