mainly because my car was originally setup for IMSA so I have no factory dash and running lexan window. I don't think they willow my car in the modified class. Besides its more fun racing with slicks than DOT tires.

Yeah, that'll definitely throw you into unlimited. Reason I ask this is because unlimited RWD is pretty tough for the "average" joe to be going in and trying to be competitive. Most of these guys have teams with engineers and $$$ budgets with pro drivers, etc. But if you're out there to have fun, by all means, have at it I'll be driving in street class this upcoming year, assuming she doesn't blow up at the first time attack of the season like last year

I know what you mean. There are some fast cars out there. Hopefully my 15 yrs of racing and 8 yrs of instructing will pay off. I was in fontana pit crewing for matt andrews miata on the last race. I was able to help him shave another 2 secs just by pointing out some obvious change in racing line and minor car setup. He went from 1:47 to a 1:45 which is about 10 secs slower than the fastest car of the day. In comparison between my car and matts car at our local 1.7mile track, I'm about 3 secs faster than him in lap times with my current setup. My plan is to increase my engine output by another 150rwhp (500rwhp on E85) and add more aero parts. I think I might get close to within 3 secs from crickets nsx. (at least that's what I'm hoping for). Of course alot of it is what I observe and gauge myself if I could be competitve in the class.

Hell yah another rotary time attack car!

The last rotary car that i know of that did really good in the time attack is the Fast Track/Twins Turbo FD.

Too bad they only got 2 good runs out of that car before it got on fire but atleast they got fastest unlimited rwd a couple years ago.

Hey Fris,

Don't suppose you could talk our way into getting a better deal as this is "customer appreciation" and all? See if we can't get a few more rx7 owners out. Mid week prices at Streets for all the motorcycle clubs are typically $89 or $99 for a track day.

I wish I could but I am in no way associated with them. Maybe you can write them an email and ask them if they would give us a rx7 owners group rate? Or maybe they could throw in free timing for us? They have in the past for certain groups.

Try it and let us know.

Jaime may already know about this but I just thought I'd post it here so theres no surprises for anyone at the track. Theres always people trying to sneak their buddy onto the track and it pisses the officials off to the point where they threaten to shut down the track and kick everyone out without a refund.

Yup. Ever since some guy died a couple of years back at Big Willow, they've banned passengers.
