RED 1988 T2 nCali
Ah yes, I know this car. It was for sale in Shingle Springs area for $1500. The father was selling it because the son doesn't live at the house anymore. I had the dad lower the price to $1300, but I had no way to tow it back to the Bay Area. And then someone picked it up and brought it down to Sonora I believe.
The new guy was trying to figure out why it wouldn't start. Eventually he got it to start for about 10 seconds and then it dies. Now he's selling it again for a few more hundreds. I have the new owner's facebook if you want it. He posts in the northern california rotary group on fb.

I have been in touch with this seller as well. I offered him $1900 if he could deliver it. He said he had other offers locally. The seller was mentioning that the car seems like it can't breath. It chokes up and dies after a few seconds. Recently, it wont even start and it just clicks and doesn't crank. I recommended that he checks the fuel lines, gets his injectors cleaned, and check for any restrictions in the exhaust system. He said it has a new fuel pump and fuel filter but now that I think of it, he should double check to see if the fuel pump is getting enough voltage.
I don't know much about diagnosing problems since I have only been around rotaries for 3 years but what I recommended him is what I would start off checking.
I hope this helps anyone who might be interested in purchasing that car. To a rotary mechanic, this seems to be a great car to pick up, fix and flip for $4500.

I actually feel bad for the guy because he wants to keep the car but he doesn't know how to fix it. I will text him and let him know to check the MAF.
If they just sign up for the forum and ask, they will get so much help from all of the knowledgeable minds (which I am not a part of yet lol)

So these days if someone buys a non-running car and can't get it running, they still expect someone else to pay more for it than they did?
Wow, with one born every minute they must be stacking up or something.

I saw that video as well. I am now very curious to find out what is exactly wrong with this car. If anyone on this forum buys it I hope the share what the problem was.
