Recommended shops/events for Roadtrip visits?

Hi all,

I am a FD owner from Belgium (Europe) and I will be visiting San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Las Vegas as part of a roadtrip from 20th July till 4th August.

I would really like to seize the opportunity to visit a shop and/or rotary event while I am over there.

So my questions are:
- are there Rotary Shops that are worthwhile visiting? Preferably with a lot of FD's to look at but also with some skilled technicians I can have a chat with
- are there any import or Rotary events in that period in this area that are worthwhile?

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

In San Diego, there are no shops at all and no events really. Everything is in L.A.
That being said, the popular shops in L.A. are Angel Motorsports, Lucky 7, Garage Life and a few others.

I'm in southern California right now. all the big shops are as busy as heck with wait lists. I don't realistically thing any have time to chit chat much quite frankly unless it's you bringing your car over to discuss what you need done. SevenStock is the big event people usually go to, but that's a few months from now.

I'm in a similar position.
Stores:
Mazdatrix
rotary13b1
J-auto (pillow *****)
Not sure if there are more brick and mortar places for picking up bits for the FD?

Was thinking I could bring a few bits back and avoid all the hassle of import postage etc

Forget the shops, enjoy all the amazing mountain roads.

Definitely planning on it. Hoping to pick up a nice rental and have some fun!
Rough plan is: San diego, LA, Yosemite, San Francisco
Should get some decent driving in I hope!

In San Diego, you'll have to go inland for the mountains, but for a cruise you should to take PCH, Pacific Coast Highway. Runs a good length of the ocean.

There are a few ricer stores to check out, but not RX specific in San Diego. Pan Auto is imports, but very clicky, trendy and showy
