Re-Introduction to the 7 world!!!

Wanted to take a minute to Re-Introduce myself to the community. To those that are still here and remember me glad to finally be back, to those who are new within the Rx-7community within the last 6 or so years I look forward to meeting you!
Backstory:
My first car that I owned when I was 18 was a 72' Mazda Rx-2. Ever since then I have been in love with the Rotary family. Had an FB for a short time but always loved the FD just like most of you it was my dream car. I bought my first FD almost 11 years ago wrecked and started building it from there... Spent the better part of 3 years going through the paces, Twins with every bolt on possible, Single turbo, then built motor with BNR's, stock body, then Carbon Fiber Accents to full on All Carbon Widebody. Well approx. 6-7 years ago I had to give up on that dream for the reason of life... lol Still to this day one of the toughest things to do and one of my biggest regrets.

Well fast forward 6-7 years and I happen to be on craigslist just looking at cars for sale; I do this all the time it drives my wife crazy, and I saw an FD in serious need of some TLC. Having the soft spot in my heart that they do I decided I would just shoot them an offer and see where it went. Next thing I know I am in Santa Rosa buying a FD. It is rough and basically needs everything, but it will again run the streets and be a loud disturbance to any who does not share the same connoisseur type taste in engine note.

The person I bought it from had only had it for a short time, maybe 8-9 months. Would love to know who the original owner might have been to get some history on the car, because at one point in its life someone did care about it because it has some tasteful reliability mods done to it. Ill try to get a picture up but here is a brief description.

Started off as BB Touring with Tan Interior, Was painted almost like a Matte Blue, Exterior Mods (99 Tails, 99 Front Bumper) Performance Mods ( HKS Intakes, ABS Delete, Fluidyne Radiator, Samco Hoses, Coil Relocation, Upgraded Fuel Pump with FPR, Pulley Upgrade, Silicone Vacuum Lines, Apex-I Power FC, R1 Dual Oil Coolers) Not sure if anything was done to suspension haven't gotten that far yet. Stock Wheels painted Black.

Anyways great to be back and look forward to the adventure. Have an idea on direction and will definitely be needing some things so Bay Area folks keep a look out for some WTB treads in the classified section! Hopefully you can help me out if not point me in the right direction.

Chris

Car I picked Up

Here are some pictures of the FD I picked up. Already started pulling all the interior and tearing the engine down. If you happen to know who use to own this please let me know.

That was originally my FD. I bought it as a stripped rolling shell, to swap parts over from my wrecked FD. It was in great shape running shape when I was finished besides the paint. Sadly I had to sell it to pay off loans/college debts cause I was not working at the time. Here's some pictures of when it was still with me.

Welcome back twomucboost4u! Good time to get back in the game.

Wow someone really bastardized and neglected that poor FD. If I had to guess, it was some young kid without a clue or a pot to **** in. Thankfully the prices of these care are rising and therefore keep them out of the hands of 'tourists'

tek_88,
Sorry man that's gotta be rough to see her like that but at least now she's back in the hands of someone who appreciates her.

I hope that it's covered in plastidip and not actual paint! Congrats on being back!

tek_88 ... Man I wish it still looked like that!!! I knew from the mods at some point someone cared about it. Appreciate the before pictures hopefully I do it justice! When did you part ways with it?

Molotovman .. Unfortunately not plasti Dip... I agree not sure why anyone would paint over BB with whatever blue it is now.

Brody8877... Yeah it is rough. But it will be back! Stay tuned!

Montego... Agreed good time to come back, and glad I found this gem. It's going to cost me more than had I bought a running one in good shape but that's just not how I like to do it. Bring it back from its death bed.

It's OK, you're going to resurrect the car with Carbon everything externals panels anyways.
Hood, Fender, Doors, Hatch
I'm sure shine can make a carbon bumper for you (I cringe at driving it anywhere).

I already asked and it sounded like they didn't want to play... Was going to try and replicate the build I had started and almost finished but decided I'm taking a new path for this one. I'll be pushing for a true form and function build. Still in the planning phase, but really excited to see it come together.

Yeah, it is saddening to see the car the way it is right now. Hopefully twomucboost4u can restore it back into a proper and clean running FD again.

At least make it more interesting for a few years... Then realize how crazy I am, questions everything I've done, decide to start over and ruin it yet again...
