Question question for us CA folks, regarding the front license plate

ok, most of u know that in cali a front plate is a must or u get a fixin ticket like i just did 2 days ago. my car is black and here i have this big *** white piece of **** disturbing the image of my beautiful black car. now, my question is, would it be illeagal to tamper with the front plate by putting a border of black tape around the numbers and letters, completely blocking the word "california" along with the month and year sticker boxes also?

Yep It would be considered defacing public property.

you could always try putting the front plate on the dashboard, passenger side, don't know if thats 'legal' but the cops might leave it alone.

putting the plate on the dash triggers the cops mind, and the cop says to himself "hmmm, isnt that **** suppose to be on the bumper". and he will gladly pull u over anyway. lesson learned, dont trigger the mind of a cop or do anything stupid to get his attention.

Get a black license frame which will make the plate look smaller

I don't have my front plate on, never got pulled over because of it, but I have gotten tickets for it, like, you were doing 80 in a 65, but I'm going to let you off with a front plate ticket. Never ever got pulled over specifically for the front plate though.

Maybe you should get a custom licence plate. I know you dont want it on there, but since it has to be, might as well make the best of it.

Although I have never been pulled over for not having one. I've had cops watch me from the other side of the intersection and never have never got a ticket for it. I even had a cop stand in front of the car waiting for me to pop the hood, and he never noticed it.

ok, ill be honest with u guys and striaght forward of how i got the fixin ticket in the 1st place. i live in long beach CA, where snoop is from =) around here cops really dont give a **** about racers unless they think ur car is highly modded and or/ electronically enchanced (boost controllers etc..). it was a nice friday, april 1st. i was on my way to my buddys house so we can all meet up and go catch a movie (sin city ownz!!) ok so i pull out of my driveway and theres this undercover dark grey squad car on my street, it wasnt even a regualar black and white squad car. i accidently made eye contact, bad idea. and i was wearing a beanie at the time, i finally get on the main st and head to my buddys place, and 5 mins later , that **** catches upto me and pulls me over. these dark grey squad cars are like gang unit cars i assume, and i assume i matched one of thier suspects that they were looking for, luckily for them i had no front plate and gives them a good reason to get me and have a chat with me , " hi how ya doin sir, drivers license please? ok thank you, have u ever been on probation and or arrested?" of course i say no. so they go back to thier little ****** computer thing in thier car, checking my record, i know im clean and i have nothing to worry about, im jus chillin in my car while they waste my time and i decide to call my buddy up on my cell "yo, just got pulled over, ill be a lil late, laters". well as i last recall, about a month ago a kid got shot in front of his school, obviously gang related and these squad cars have been looking for answers since. well i looked suspect, my car is black, no front plate, it looks like my car was stolen honestly. but hey they let me go and gave me a fixin ticket, and the cop drops his whole polite act and says to me " yo bro, just a fixin ticket, just screw that **** on and you will be good (talkin bout my front plate)......and i say alright thx.................

sry for the long story =)

I got a parking ticket and they gave me a fix it ticket also for no front plate. I just paid the $25 fix it ticket. I don't mind paying that every once in awhile.

Don't be driving around with a beanie on. You're just asking to get pulled over especially in the LBC.

Put it on, get it signed off, drive around the corner, or not, depending on ball size, and take it off... just make sure you don't get caught once a week, cause it can get expensive... Not to mention emberrasing.
