Yeah I've been pulled over for red lights and stop signs countless times. Though sometimes they say its because they pull anyone over whos riding a bike at 3am.

damn that's retarded, you should really try to fight it. at least ask the judge to lower the price of the ticket. i had a fwy speeding ticket like 3-4 years ago for like $365, i went to see the judge and he automatically lowered it to like $78 just for showing up. good luck with whatever happens tho.

 

Oh I was thinking that he didn't have red lights on his bike (like reflectors or something). Still though, I would figure they'd go much easier on you - like give you a warning or a severely reduced ticket since you're on a bike.

Did the cop show up when you went to court?

I heard if you go to court to try and contest it, the fine gets doubled to cover court costs if you lose?

 

I doubt that is constitutional, so probably not true.

i just remembered, actually i didn't request to fight the ticket, i requested to see the judge to lower the cost of the price so the cop didn't have to show up. if you decide to fight it then that's when you have to worry about the cop showing up or not. chances are he wont show up. i was told once to try to find out the schedule of that cop and request to go fight the ticket on a day he's working, most likely he's not going to take time off work to go appear in court. it's the same as anyone else, they have to take time off their daily lives to go fight the ticket in court and a lot of them are too lazy for it. but yeah, i would at least try to see the judge to lower the payment. i don't know if we all got lucky with that judge, but he was lowering everyone's tickets by a lot. when it was my turn, he just repeated what it said on the ticket then asked me if i plead guilty or not to speeding, i said yeah and he was like, $78. and that's it, only took a few seconds after they called me.
