Shoulda just used the stock filter, It'd be better for your engine. Maybe not as much hp, but an even trade I'd say. You'd be getting cooler air from the front of your motor and a better filter.

 

i dont have a stock IC nor the piping for a all stock setup. see my recirculating bov that is plumbed to the intake and hks top mount ic

it is and its not...


honestly it depends what area's you are in..

for me(i live south of Downtown LA near LAX airport), i never get hassled for my cars.. my fcs have never been legal(intakes, full exhaust, no cats, upgraded turbos, slammed to the ground, etc). but i guess if your in certain places, cops will be dicks, and hassle you..

 

There are some places in Cali that don't require smog.

not northern county sd. my fd is super loud and wouldnt pass smog for its life. you tend to see more modified vehicles here due to the HUGE base.

 

I just went 3'' strait pipe from the cat back but I have yet to see a cop.. so we will see. I had my like 15 stickers on my front windshield for over month and cops just ignore me since I always drive so laid back. Also people always say southern SD is the worst place for cops. I don't think so honestly. If I you don't drive fast even if you stick out they pretty much leave you alone. I hate the mentality of my friends with the typical "**** the police" attitude. I have never had a problem with the police in general. But then again my mom is a sheriff..

Also I avoid typical ricer areas/meets and usually don't roll in packs. The far eastern part of SD is smog exempt.

aluminum? galvanized or stainless? and cost? I want to do this for my rear since my exhaust likes to scrap since I lowered my car..

I already have aluminum sheeting laying around but I really doubt it would hold up well..
