I just read some of those comments. That is some funny ****. Either those commentators are "fresh off the boat," or are still in 11th grade. They have no idea what they are talking about.

No it's not Turbo'd
Actually Casper, you are probably wrong about the private property argument. Most shopping centers have signs at the entrance to the parking lot stating that "the vehicle code is enforced here" or something along those lines. It could be such a sign isn't even posted. If it wasn't like that, people could run a muck in the parking lots and that would be bad for business. So the owners give permission to law enforcement to enter and enforce the law.
for the coppers. **** imports.

Even if that's so the police is picking and choosing when they want to enforce the law and when it's too much trouble... like when someone vandalizes your vehicle...

I can see this same thing happening in a certain local mall... I saw these guys speeding down the parking lot, and a truck rammed right into a foxbody. The guy with the foxbody came out and started laughing because they were all drunk and they were buddies. Got back into the car and peeled off.

So if shopping centers can just "pretend" like that sign exists and have cops enforce it, I can just pretend there's a 100mph speed sign on I5 ??

Some notes...
Harleys NEVER get pulled over or at least they don't in my area OR Sacramento and they are the ones that are always WOT down every strip they see because they like the way their stupid bikes sound. Hell just 5 minutes ago I heard then saw 2 of them blasting down my street in a residential area...which they do around my moms house, friends houses...etc
Cops pull over muscle cars and imports alike, but at least in my town there are more jackasses that own imports than their are jackasses that own muscle cars...so it appears that the cops favor the imports to ticket.
The "Don't do anything wrong and the police won't bother you" bullshit doesn't exist. Just last month I got together with about 10 friends to get some Starbucks, which everyone of us bought an overpriced drink...we went ahead and stood around drinking our coffee by our cars and 3 cops roll up and tell us to leave and that they better not catch us street racing. Mind you all of our cars were off and we were going to hang out for an hour or so, but that was ruined..no tickets or anything but it is BS that they can tell us to leave when we are paying customers that aren't doing anything different than the other customers, except we own modified or modified looking cars.

If it went down like Mike says it did, F' em. They deserved to have their ish impounded. Acting stupid and racing around in parking lots warrants police procedures.
But when people gather around like at the autobacs meets, cops should just stay out. Hell, sometimes its a couple bad apples that spoil it for the bunch. Actually, their were some burn-out rejects at the last autobacs meet i went to. Andrew asked if i smelled something, my sinus' were on the fritz and i couldnt smell ****. i looked over and saw these rejects smoking pot right there in the middle of the parking lot. Losers Its ish like that, that get the cops called on us from local shops and stores.
But things like this, i would argue, ESPECIALLY if i had purchased something from a local store:
you said 3 cops, so i can only imagine they were called on you guys from one of the pissy shop owners. They would have no right or probable cause to search your cars, so i would of told them 'i'll leave when i'm ready'. I mean you were a patron to the surrounding business'. Cops like to use scare tactics.
Fumanchu, Can cops really kick you out of shopping centers like the above legally?

I Knew i knew it. i was the with a friend just to check it out, and my god, everything that u can name of getting ur car impounded was done there. burnouts, 1/4 mile races, loud mariachi music, lowrider hoppin, biker burnouts, fights, and drifting. all this havoc was orchestrated everywhere at the same time. I just couldnt belive all this was happenng and not a single offical was around to prevent the danger. i could have brought the FC but F**** THAT ***!. Im better than that. i knew they had sumthin under their sleeves.
In defense of the cops, in the past they would come out, and chill in the parking lot, and make sure everyone was behaving. NOT ONCE did they ask anyone to leave or threaten to hand out citations.

Hmmm I don't feel sorry for most of those people now...but I'm still somewhat mad about my case of my friends and I being told to leave when we were still drinking what we had bought...and the reason I wasn't going to argue with the police was the car I had out that night did have mods that I'd get cited for...easier to just leave and cut my losses than go home with a citation.

I am the stig.
"If you're not into street racing, why would you need that?" Riverside Police Traffic Sergeant Skip Showalter asked an enthusiast during a similar crackdown last year. "Why would you want more power going to your car?"
