Thanks for updating Dave...and good work getting the dyno spot secured. I hope the drum isn't as heavy as the last one! And $90/hour is a good price, I believe...how much was the previous one?

Looking forward to the day. Keep us posted on the updates!

That's it, I'm changing my sig. I guess it is a little misleading. No, I will not have the 20b then. I sold the car it was going in so now it is going in the vert...but not yet.

My basic Mod List (Red FD - also listed in sig mostly):

Apexi RX6b single turbo with Tial 44mm wastegate (8psi spring) and BOV
Streetported motor w/ 3mm seals (with minor coolant leak, I think, but I don't seem to be losing coolant...)
M2 medium IC
All emissions removed
Power FC with ZT-2 wideband
550/1300 injectors
HKS Twinpower with 9s all around
3" dp with resonated midpipe and RB cat-back (old school single tip)
Cosmo fuel pump
Greddy Profec-B.

Right now I have the Profect turned off, so boost is at a conservative 8psi or so. If posible I would like to tune to the base boost for normal runs and track days, and maybe 12psi (or higher) for...fun times.

Also will there be higher octane gas available somewhere nearby or on the way up there? I'd really like the extra protection if possible.

Just a side question:

Can my car get tuned for 10 psi AND 15 psi (maybe 5 psi and 15 psi)...both at 91 octane...or do I not even need to have seperate maps? Just curiouse since I want low psi for my daily driving and 15 psi for when some lame *** in a vette pulls up next to me

I should mention that I"m still on the same map that Steve tuned for me when I had the stock turbos, which probably explains the slow spool up, but I'm not sure...I can't wait til he tunes it, so I can finally feel what the RX6 is supposed to feel like!

Turning off your Profec B bost controller and running an 8 lb. wastegate spring is probably the reason for the slow spoolup.

You don't need seperate maps unless you plan on running race fuel afaik.

On that note, I will not be providing race fuel. Contact Black Sheep Performance (link posted in previous post) to see if they can provide some. I do know Infineon Raceway is nearby if some one is willing to go there and get some.
It won't be me though.

I always thought that turning off the Profec would allow the wastegate to work as it would w/o boost control and would actually work better due to the reliability of the mechanical spring, but I could be wrong.

I feel that the spoolup was the same with the Profec on or off.

And it's not necessarily the spoolup time that I'm concerned about, but when the extra hp from the turbos "kick in". It's kinda hard to explain, but basically, even when I have full boost but at low RPMs, it doesn't pull like it has full boost, so I'm wondering if it's just in the maps somewhere...we'll see though.

Dave, I've sent my deposit via Paypal. I want the 4th spot on Saturday, 12/17.

Relevant Mods:

*streetported motor
*BNR Stage 3 twins
*downpipe
*midpipe
*cat-back
*SMIC
*intake
*Power FC w/datalogit
*1300cc secondaries

Do we need a bung in the exhaust for a wideband sensor hookup?

Thanks
-Tyler

Saturday dyno tuning is more than likely full. However, if there is a 5th person interested, you will definately get tuned, but most likely it will be on the street. If there is time, you will be accomodated on the dyno. I know a good place to do it on the street if that is how it ends up.

Sunday dyno time may also be full (assuming 1revn3rdgen gets his deposit in) but is more likely than Saturday to accomodate a 5th person on the dyno (still no guarantee). The reason being is that the first four cars "should be" quick and easy to tune due in part to either having limited mods or having been partially tuned before. Just like with the 5th spot on Saturday, you will get tuned one way or the other.

The "Standby" spot on either day is for those who may want to get tuned or want additional time with Steve that day if there is time. NO DEPOSIT is required for this and there is no limit to how many can request a standby spot. However, if accomodated, $350 would of course be required (unless negotiated with Steve by PRIOR participants ONLY). The reason for having this is to try and accomodate as many people as possible in a realistic manner, i.e. NO GUARANTEES.

Not necassary but prefered. The shop has a sniffer but sometimes Steve likes to use his own wideband.

I have the Zeitronix wideband currently plugged in my midpipe, but I'm guessing that Steve would prefer to plug in his own wideband that he's familiar with. I also have an additional bund in the manifold that he could probably use, but I was hoping that he could plug in an EGT in that bung instead? Do you know if Steve carries around an EGT?

Saturday and Sunday spots with assured tuning spots ARE FULL. For those of you in the 4th and 5th spots on both Saturday and Sunday, you are not guaranteed dyno time but will be tuned on the street if the dyno shop closes. The 4th spot on both days should be able to accomodate you on the dyno, but the 5th spot on each day is probably a bit to optimistic, especially on Saturday.

Getting tuned on the street does involve risk. You need to top out in 3rd and preferably 4th gear which is not considered safe by those in power. I have a pretty good spot with long straight double lanes with a center divider. Lights control the traffic in either direction to give you plenty of room. I also like to have someone at either end to look out for those in power. Please make sure no wheels will fall off at speed and hope for good weather.

The "Standby" spot on either day is for those who may want to get tuned or want additional time with Steve that day if there is time. Oh what fun, looks like street tuning for me

Mod List-
FD
Street port
3mm apex seals
Apexi PFC
HKS RS Intakes
RX7 Fashion DP
HKS Hi-Power Exhaust

I also plan to either get a mid pipe and Greddy Pulley kit OR a 3" cat before the tuning date unless I have money issues.
