hey guys so most of you are pretty familiar with Project Car Magazine from getting an issue while waiting in line at the super market to being a avid reader like myself. well im starting this thread to make a petition which i will send in one as a letter of the month mentioning about this thread so that they can build interest to make a issue about a RX7 so far they have done hondas and nissans subarus and they build these cars on budgets for some serious power but havent seen any ROTARY LOVE by them so far.....

i know some of us dont care if they make one or not because your already pretty knowledgeable on what to do with your car to make **** happen for it, but i also know that the majority of us who are barely getting into the game with a 7 are not to that level yet or even know the ins and outs of our ROTARY like myself i only know the basic stuff and only herd of it the wild things you guys do from LS1 to 3 ROTAR engine installs on FC's 7 FD's. in still at stage 1 of my project and on a limited budget as most of you know i have a S5 NA Slow-Amatic and have the inspiration of making it into a LEAN MEAN DRIFT MACHINE / Daily 5 Speed Driver. i just think it would be really cool if they made an issue about an RX7 from start to rebuild to performance to finish. hell the car is about REAL CARS with REAL BUDGETS and showing your the TRICKS OF THE TRADE. what do you guys think

SN(side note): The only magazines that I only check is all Supras, RX7s, 300zx(Z32), 240Z and sometime NSX.

whats good is more attention from aftermarket companies to start developing parts for the old aging FC... look at the 240sx game, i was in it back in the day when you would spend $$$ for imported parts, today everyone carries aftermarket parts for them due to popularity, only drawback is 05-07 where the good years of the 240sx game in my opinion before they became theft magnets. I know alot of rx7 guys hate them because all they see and think about is the faggotty kids with beat to **** examples.

A lot of cars guys have "beat to crud" examples, myself included. You do what you can. Your thread is outstanding by the way. I may never have posted in it, but I've looked through it several times.

 

You know if they do an FC build they are just gonna do a budget V8 swap. They can't afford to do a 3 rotor or anything crazy with a rotary. Usually their **** is built with borrowed or cheap ****. But their CRX is sick as ****, and I do love their mag. A 7 just isn't in their budget right now

 

trust me yes they can if they have a budget to put a RB25 in a M30 with a **** load of modifications hell there moto is "CANT FIND PARTS? ADAPT & IMPROVISE" you guys need to check out there latest issue "BACKYARD BUILT AE86" who knew there would be a lot to detail to make a SR5 into a GTS i got it and they show you how to make your own COILOVERS using your old Suspension Parts and it came out pretty clean

 

this is the issue they only come out with one issue every 4 months

 

just try to get ahold of someone there and shoot the idea over.

I wouldnt mind seeing a 240z or older Z car issue either. Love those cars.

Would be nice to get some more asian-tune influence on the rx7 community. Tired of all these non-PS/AC 400hp cars with no suspension mods and unattractive appearance.

Rx7s are higher end car than some of the other popular cars, and its more appreciated than an oddball like the 3000gt or DSM *cars that only their owners like because they got stuck with them lol*.

I own every issue of PCM and I love it. They actually posted a letter from me in one of their earlier editions and at the end I asked them to show some rotary love. I would love to see them do some crazy stuff with an FC but honeslty I would be ok with just a nice T2 build. They should be able to find an FC for cheap (hell ill give them mine if they want to give it back when they are done and it needs a lot of love lol) especially in SoCal.

Also its not just about the info, its also about the joy of seeing a rotary in a build mag that centers around hondas and nissans (oh and one Mitsu GSX). It would be nice to remind the world that the rotary isnt as bad as the rumors are if you know a little about them.

I agree, I would love to see a 7 being built all crazy, might give me a few ideas, I have seen a few of there articles too, they get stuff a lot cheaper than I see it sold too. Sorry to be mr negative, but, from a business standpoint, due to the low amount of 7's produced, and the fact that ppl race and crash with them, there not a lot around anymore, compared to the civic or 240. So the question is how many mags would they sell? Maybe ask if they could give the rx7 like 15 pages a mag, and have it be a several part build, maybe 3 mags to complete the work. That way the honda owners, and there are a lot, would still have there info and buy the mag, and we get what we want, so they still make there profits. I wouldn't mind that. Either way count me in as I like to see what other people do to there cars.
