Oil Sending Unit

So I changed my tranny/clutch/and driveshaft a few weeks ago and then when I plugged everything back in everything seemed to work, all except for the oil press gauge. When I turned the car one...it Shot straight up and then came down. So I checked the wire running to the unit and it seemed fine. So my next guess was to replace the unit, and so I did and still the press guage does not read. Could there be a wire I left loose when I changed the tranny? OR some ground not connected? The only thing I noticed that wasnt connected when I changed the tranny was this noise condensor and I didnt know where to put it. I tried grounding it out and nothing then I tried to run current through it and nothing. IT might just be busted now (the condensor) but Im not sure if that has anything to do with my gauge not reading. ITs an 89 GTU S5. Thanks

you sure the sending unit wire didnt get pinched between the bellhousing and block?

the condenser should be mounted with the slave cylinder.

Yeah I will mount it tomm onto the slave. The wire didn't get pinched. I can see where it starts (it comes out of the harness going to the starter solonoid) and it goes straight to the oil press switch. But nothing. Any other suggestions? IT was working perfectly fine before I lowered the tranny etc... ?

Before I turned the car on again..i put the wire straight to ground. So maybe I blew the actual gauge itself?

I just found my problem. The condensor itself broke off the wire and I grounded it (ther wire) without the condensor and Im guessing I burned the actual gauge itself on the cluster. Because I remember turning the car one and the gauge shot straight up and then came down after a few seconds.
