Ohlins DFV - Favor in Bay Area

Hi folks,

I'm close to buying a set of Ohlins DFV to replace the stock springs+shocks on my '93 RX-7. Was wondering if anyone in the Bay Area has them installed and wouldn't mind giving me a ride-along to see how they feel on the street.

I can bring some beer/food as a token of my appreciation. Please let me know!

Does anyone have the Koni/Eibach combo on their FD in the area and wouldn't mind letting me come check it out instead? This seems to be a more popular combination and easier on the wallet.

Would love to meet some of you rotorheads up here as well.

That's a huge price/tech difference going from the DFV to Koni/Eibach set. Why go from a coilover set to a strut/spring set?

I have a Zeal Function X Coilovers with the 12k front & 10k rear spring rates if you ever want a ride along.

If you don't mind driving over to Santa Cruz, my Zeal B6 coilovers are 10k-10k.

If I were in your shoes I'd get the Ohlins and not look back.

I know I'll regret this later but I am considering selling mine since it looks like I wont be able to install them until the summer.
These are the JDM DFV version in excellent condition with low miles which were purchased through Bryan/purerx7 from rx7boutique in November.

pm me if interested.

Well I predominantly drive on the street, and have been meaning to autocross since I moved up here from San Diego but it hasn't been easy. So, taking that into consideration, I'm just not sure if I'm going to get enough value out of the Ohlins which are twice the price of the Ground Control Koni/Eibach set. Granted, I bet the ride quality would be better with the Ohlins and that was the reason I had considered getting them initially.

Thanks for the offer, you're just a little far away. It's crazy when I put it into perspective and think that a set of Ohlins can cost almost half what I paid for my RX-8.

Great meeting you too Evan! Thanks again for giving me a feel for those progressive Eibachs -- can't wait to get my FD back on the road.
