We wanted to meet respectful people along with their cars. We do not look forward to meeting rude owner such as your self.
So by trying to keep the quality "high", is it your opinion that every FC owner is not of "quality" potential?

Not trying to stir the pot but I think the misunderstanding it the word usage.

If you're trying to do a car/make/year generation specific car meet, then say so. By saying "trying to keep the quality high, so only certain cars are invited" is biased and assuming that every car (and owner) outside is NOT of high quality. Its easy for people to take that personality.

And yes, I've seen plenty of SA, FB, and FCs of very "high quality" out there. Most of them (and their owners) don't come out of much and they tend to be very very few.

Before we go in to a **** fest with each other, does anyone know who the owner of the White FD with CE28's are and/or what are the specs of those wheels? Want to get some CE28's for my FD, hoping to get the black edition, just gauging what i want to go for and ideally, i do not want to roll my fenders.

Not really trying to **** on anyone. If I still had my 350rwhp 13BRE VMount GP Sports FC Track Car and wasn't invited due to the age of my car, then I'd take it a little personal because the age of my car overrules any car knowledge/experience that I could contribute. Again, I'm just pointing out misunderstanding on both sides. Word misusage.

Bottom line. Its a car meet in a public place. You choose whether you want to go or not. Next time, maybe I'll just park my FD over by the Starbucks and walk over.

Those are Volk GT-Ns or at least replicas on them.
Judging on concave look and tire size, the fronts are 18x8 +44 and rears 18x9 +44 as well.

Thank you for that information. The threads on wheels here have really gone away from putting the specs and just to showing pictures which is cool and all, just trying to find the right size.

Anyways, its very understandable how you feel. I would of brought out my 8 but expected not to be parked next to the meet as well. We just have to respect what the organizers wanted to do, not saying that we should all just roll over and take it but organizers wanted to do year and model specific, let them do it. Same goes for make specific meets and such. Personally, i host all mazda meets, i don't shoo anyone away because they are not driving a mazda but there has been a few meets where i showed up and had to park away from a GTR meet or a S2k meet. I'm sure the wording was what the misunderstanding came from and i can definitely see your point. I remember hosting a huge "rotary" meet at treasure island many years ago, of course the intention was rotary specific in the main parking lot but we were never going to kick any non rotaries out. I do hope one day to set up another huge meet of "halo" vehicles of all the japanese companies but we'll see.

You're a good dude. Notice that your post was almost exactly the same as mine... line by line.

I would agree that it was a word misusage... right up until these two decided to validate the unfortunate stereotype (that I generally, strongly disagree with) that a lot of FC owners hold about FD owners.

Yes and no. Your latter post may resemble mine however your 1st post in this thread said: "But all of those other cars are just old japanese pieces of **** compared to the GTRs... Funny how that works."

Whether that was intended/unintended sarcasm, your approach into this thread probably made some go on the defensive. Pushing them to point the finger back at you.

Again, MISUSE of words on both sides.

Now just let it die and go back to working on your ticking time bombs.

You're welcome. I'm just looking at the picture and making my best estimated guess based on wheel diameter, concave, lip depth, tire/sidewall width, and distance from the fender.

If you're going to go with the CE28N, then I'd go with the 18x9 +50 square setup. You shouldn't need to roll fenders at all. However, if it's not "flush" enough for you, then they also offer a +40 offset.

Hah, it was sarcasm. Interwebz doesn't transmit that very well.

Thanks for that information, i'm definitely trying to keep the body as stock as possible. I'm kind of old school so flush is definitely not my style, i actually prefer the 90's tuck look. Haha. Again, thanks for all the advice, trying to get used to what will fit for the FD, with the rx8, our sizes are not as aggressive as the FD :P

I'm not sure if that was meant towards me but if it was, i got dragged in :P Anyways, that meet is over and done with. I'm sure for 99% of this club, we all appreciate all years of rx7's as we could not have one without the other except for the SA/FB's :P But i don't think anyone is trying to rag on 1st and 2nd gen 7's as well.

You guys should just go to my meets and no one else :P

why would any FC owner taken offensive is beyond me. I have friend that drives highly modded FC, FB, 300zx, mk3 all make of cars, but that wasn't the point, you can have a 1000hp FC that runs flat 2 at thill and wins every car show and still not get invited. Why!?! Because the meet was geared toward other model... NOT BECAUSE WE ARE STEREOTYPING YOU

Should the 300zx owners complain too because they weren't invited? Or 3000gt owners?

quality meet means actually meeting every owner and talking to them and getting to know their car. Feeling confident and to be able to trust them to go on a drive afterward, knowing they won't be douch bags that tries to prove them self by driving like an idiot in a group.

If you guys definition of quality meet is having every car make and model show up in a parking lot , watching some people peel out in the parking out then by all means fine with me. That's not the type of meet I'm into.

Btw you guys see that mk3 parked in the corner? He saw our caravan and followed us, that's fine we talked to the owner and he is a cool guy. **** his lug nuts even fell out on the way to the meet and I gave him my spare set for free to help him out.

anyways I'm done here, that's why i post more in the Facebook group instead of the forum cause of all the trolls.

I think this story is a little judgmental on all ends. Also a bit snotty, although I do understand the premise of what you guys where intending.

You wanted to be able to keep control of the meet and not let it get out of hand like so many meets have done in the past. By keeping control of the automobiles present is the only way to control the numbers and the people who present themselves. You wanted to make sure that there was no show boating and nobody doing anything that could get your kicked or banned from the location.

With that said, the way you guys approached it and the way you guys commented on it, did make it sound very very snobbish and self centered as if you guys believe that the people who got invited where better then everyone else on the forum.

I know that is not the intention, or should I say that I hope that was not the intention of the meet or the statements in this story, but remember that this is a written forum, nobody can gauge your meaning except for the exact language being used.

People should try to keep an open mind when reading something like this, and if something sounds off ask what they meant by that.

On the flip, those writing the topic or the post should read the post back to themselves and ask themselves how it could be interpreted.

Sorry if I sound preachy I just hate posts that turn into a story of two or more children fighting back and forth without any clear meaning in what is being said, and I believe that what I am now saying is an attempt to summarize the meaning or message that everyone was trying to get across.

Late post here. I was invited to this meet and I did not go. I had a few personal friends at this meet as well but I don't totally agree with the "special invite" process.
Regardless, I don't think its that big of a deal, if you didn't get invited then don't go, call up some friends and have them invite their friends and have your own meet with "cooler" people. When people have rotary meets and I get uninvited because I have a V8, big deal, I wouldn't want to go and be around people like that anyways, but I don't complain about it on the forum.

There were two v8 rx7 there plus couple FC v8 owner who happened to own supra and gtr also.

If your friends went to the meet in pretty sure they had a good time and could tell that there was no discrimination. We wanted to keep the meet small and personal. Big meet will always turn out with 1 or 2 douche bag that ruins it for everyone.
