Stan, are you in good with any of the Mazda dealers in the Bay Area?

Zach
nope but I know someone that probably is although I still doubt theyd sponser an event. I'll ask for you though.

That's cool.

Brian, thanks for the idea of your uncle's shop. That is quite a distance for the NorCal7 crew, but I doubt it would be that much of a problem.

I'm honestly wanting to start up something that after a few years would turn into a NorCal7/BA Rotary Sevenstock of sorts. I know it won't be the same as the original, but I'm sure you guys all know where I'm coming from.

I think you'd have much better luck trying to get the rx8 club involved and then propose it to a local mazda dealership or mazda corporate.

I'm all about getting the RX-8's involved. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if the local Miata guys showed up and we just made it a huge Mazda meet. But if I can help it, I want to keep it narrowed down to rotary powered vehicles only.

Thats true, I guess it would be closer then Seven Stock thats for sure... I think we begin the move in for the shop end of Feb/ Early March... so soon there after that we should be good to go..

The shop is also located a couple blocks from a Mazda Dealership around the area too and I know some of the guys fairly well.. I will see if they have anything to offer.

SWEET! Thanks again bro. And not that it really matters all that much, but a good meet like this with "corporate sponsorship" would really give some good publicity to both the NorCal7 crew and the BA Rotary crew. Car clubs can use all of the "good press" they can get these days!!

Yeah, I'm always down for something closer. I got out near 3PM on Sunday but I didn't want to drive to Vacaville, stay there an hour until it gets dark, and drive back.

And I guess no one is going to show up to Japantown meet next Sunday. Haha..... oh well

I'll be there, but not with my car. I'm going with my friend in the Initial D replica Corolla that is in a few pictures in this thread.

I'll hook up with the local mazda dealer and maybe a performance shop and see if any of them want to sponsor an event. I thought of something yesterday. there's a park in Santa Rosa whis regularly has auto shows...mostly classics and ****. I'm thinking of talking to the city and seeing what the deal is on using the space...

2 hours isn't all that far, i generally drive 2 hours to a meet in our area.

in the future when things are settled in here i wouldn't mind doing a sponsorship for a meet if it is a decent size.

i just wanted to say thank you guys for being so cool and welcoming to new people. i never thought i'd find a good group of people again since i left my supra community friends in l.a. but it looks like you guys are just as much fun and have less drama than the socal guys. you were all even nice to my piston loving dsm friend. I will be attending as many meets as i can from now on, and my only request for the next meet is a well planned drive away from the high traffic area's of the bay area. i also appreciated a good excuse to get me and my 7 away from the crappy weather of tahoe. thanks again guys and let me know if i or Turbo Power can do anything for the community in the future.

Yeah, I know the General Manager at Wood cad/ Mazda, let me know what date we are talking and I get in touch with him and see.

But knowing him, he will want it to be a Mazda event, rather than just a Rotary event.

we can just call it a "Mazda" event, since we all drive Mazdas.

Have to catch you? Deal.

And yeah, Ben works on cars. He is the owner of Rotary Evolution. If you don't know about it yet you will soon. The best rotary rebuild shop in the area! Why do you think that people all the way from the Bay are bringing their 7's to Ben in Yuba City??

Zach

P.S. I doubt you have to worry about offending anyone here. We all like to talk ****.
