Exclamation News: Dont Get Caught !

So in San Diego, the SDPD have been crushing cars in salvage yards. These are vehicles that have been seized at illegal races. Apparently, if the cars have stolen parts, they are seized and the car is destroyed. They're doing this supposedly to deter any criminal activity such as stealing cars, illegal racing and illegal parts distribution.

Supposedly in SAC, the CA state government has mandated regardless of the legality of "your parts" ie. SMOG / CARB LEGAL yada yada yada... it doesn't matter if "legal documents" are presented before a judge stating the "manufactured part is smog legal and state legal"... because STATE LAW is "It is illegal to modify any vehicle with any after-market parts."

Anyone receiving a vehicle modification "fix-it" ticket must visit a California Bureau of Automobile Repair office and pay a $35 fee to have their car inspected. If the car fails, a judge can impose another fine of up to $2000 for failing to meet California emissions requirements.

And if your car is seized with illegal parts. The vehicle is destroyed. How they find out whether or not the part is stolen is unknown.

Our problem is this: If it's illegal, then why sell it? It's like buying
a K&N filter from Checkers, PepBoys or where ever... and then getting popped for it because a cop decides he wants to see under your hood, when all you have is a K&N filter. We understand cops are people too, and some cops we know have some pretty nice and juicy rides as well, but it's almost a double standard. Depends who the cop is right or how the cop is... (if he's having a sh*tty day)? Hey so, uhh, got an air freshener hanging on the Rear View Mirror... yes it's a modification. Apparently so to the number of people who've been pulled over by a cop who was having a sh*tty day... even more so when the Judge who's presiding over your case when you decide to fight it, tells you to pay $100 fine for hanging your little religious trinket or PINE FRESH air freshener... *kill that noise!

WELL, ALL WE KNOW IS, IF YOU'RE GONNA RACE... IT'S AT YOUR OWN RISK... DON'T BITCH AND CRY ABOUT WHAT THE COPS CAN AND CAN'T DO BECAUSE IT'S YOUR WORD AGAINST THEIRS... IF YOU'RE GOING TO PUT SOME PARTS IN YOUR CAR AND BE "FAST AND FURIOUS" PREPARE TO PAY THE CONSEQUENCES... WHETHER YOU DRIVE AN "ASIAN IMPORT", "EURO IMPORT" OR A "DOMESTIC MUSCLE"... regardless... you'll pay the price dearly if you're busted for something illegal...

FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN OTHER STATES... YOUR LOCAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT ARE STARTING TO SEE WHAT CALIFORNIA STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ARE DOING TO DETER STREET RACING AND ALL THE ELEMENTS THAT COME WITH IT... AND THEY WILL IMPLEMENT THE SAME SYSTEMS THAT SUPPOSEDLY WORK IN CA.

BE CAREFUL AND BE SAFE OUT THERE... WATCH YOURSELVES.

Okay WOW take it easy, the law said this morning that any car that is pulled over for Suspicion of illegal race parts by a highway patrol, or any police for that matter have the right to pop your hood, and inspect it. If you have carb numbers 4 YOUR PARTS YOUR covered, if you don't your screwed. And the only way they crush your car is if the motor in the car comes up stolen!!! Getting pulled over is like it has always been if you don't have a carb number and you get pulled over you have to go to smog station that does test only have it inspected and then pass smog all at the same time, or if he/she is high roller just pay the fine!!! Believe me I have been pulled many of times in my rx7 with no smog stuff. I usally just pay the fine

Man your going start scaring people from all walks of life

Yeah the sticker has to be visible some where in the engine bay, along with the paper work in order not to get popped. The same for street legal nitrous system's, intakes, exhaust, so on and so forth. Msd's anything that is carb legal.

Stolen motor's is what there after to slow down or stopp the theft of cars and parts getting jacked. Watch yourself

My bro had wrx and paper walked himself out of ticket that would have costed him lil over 3 g's. Front mount, bov, exhaust, intake ect.... Had all paper work, and carb numbers and was coo. The cop was lil pissed running all the numbers through his lab top. But it paid off. We were there for 3 hours getting inspected on the street's it sucked but we walked away with smile. The cop gave us compliment and said we did a good job going legal with all the carb numbers crazy huh...

Never said cops couldn't pop your hood. But there has to be reasonable cause. I got of two tickets by being repectful and showing them in a book of laws what right's we have as motorist to have our car searched. One was for a burn tail light, and the other was for failure to signal. The cop was coo, and gave me two thumbs up for my knowledge in protecting myself. The book im talking about can be purchased at DMV for about 40.00 bucks i get one every year to stay up on new laws. And believe me it works.

I'm impressed as that DMV book is about 4 inches thick.

Keeping up on the laws, what is the maximum speed limit if you're rolling on steel to ground wheels.

Another more helpful one is the law that states your taillights have to reflect red. It also gives the option that they don't have to reflect red (ie smoked) so long as you have two red reflectors somewhere on the rear of your car. (Note, S5 tails each have a red reflector separate from the lenses. So, are excellent candidates for DMV legal smoking).

Honest, there is a law in the DMV book that recites a speed limit in that case. Some of them are absolutley hilarious.

Yo last year my boy with a shop car came out to the street run's. The car was fully built from the floor up. Had a fiber glass front end (feders, hood, and bumper) to be exact, the cop was going to let him go, but since the motor was not registered and it was an out state motor, japan to be exact, the dude bit the bullet, and got the car impounded, i cryed my heart out. They got the motor and the car back two weeks later with paper work, and warning. That **** was too funny because the shop was put on blast for supporting illegal racing, and for bringing out such an illegal car. That was cool, but it was also not the last time i saw them, they came out in something a lil less aggressive. It was funny though the cop took pics of the car and held a conversation with the dude about his setup. the other cop was a dick

attempts to scare people into stopp street racing. The real cure i see for the problem is allowing more local tracks to be built. Id say. That are open more then 2 days a week during "race season" but the state gets too much revenue from ticketing, fining, and impounding cars, etc. vs. a private owner building a track and generating revenue. Conspiracy.....

Man not only that location location location, it cost almost 3million dollars or so to keep the barona track open here san diego for insurance purposes it's ******* crazy. Race legal was gunna get closed for the same reason's, and becauase there were not enough supporters and revenue to be generated. On top of that people were harping about all the noise. That y they got strict on noise levels on cars.

i think i agree with that.. if more tracks are built less street racing.. theres people out there that wants to race in a track and just have fun but the place is too far, instead of having a fresh car to race their .. car is already used up when they get there cuz its too far...

the largest speedway in california was supposed to be built 5 miles from my house. the plot sign for the speedway was up for 3 years and recently vanished this year, no one has heard a word about it since... it sucks because it would have been an awesome addition to a largely growing area up here.

there was actually cops pulling people over down at the sacramento speedway on their way to the track to legally race, man if that isn't a way to promote street racing i don't know what is.. if people want to race at the track but they cite them on the way to the track then that sets a bad example and just detours people away from legally racing.
