New to rx-7 and new to cali

Hey i moved ou to cali a little less then a year ago, im in the military, Air force, and the sent me to Monterey...im learning chinese out at dli...hard as **** anyway enough about me, i bought a 81 rx-7 just less then a month ago, and im trying to find a good shop with trusty people out here to get some stuff done on my 7....regular maintanence and possibly some performance work...actually thinking bout tryin a tri-rotor in this baby...anyway any help would be awsome, and if there is anyone out here in the area id love to talk to anyone with a 7, anyway thanks...newbie

There's a bunch of 7 owners in the bay area. I know there's supposed to be a couple of good mechanics up here, but I can't remember where. I've been doing all of my own work, and havn't had a chance to meet any of the list members up here yet.

thanks for the feedback guys...it sucks there dont seem to be more people in my area, im really interesed to see other peoples cars and engines....the ones without cylinders(my friends think im obsessed, i say **** them)
hey "wackyracer" did you mean you where in monty too or just letting rs1101 know where i was at?
rx7docter...im not sure what im looking to have done, right know im lookin into getting another fb and maintaing the one i have now as stock and puttin something awsome...trirotor in the other fb, right now my car is having some drive train problems, so if anything thats the first thing i need done still trying to figure out what i want to do tho

Drivetrain

Wackyracer was letting you know where Rs was, He is in La. What type drivetrain problems are you having. Vibration, clunking when taking off from stop. Howling from rear end, trans problems?

hey i'm from salinas. i think i saw your car around the monterey area. didn't you get stuck in a parking lot last month. i remember a car like yours did but i was working at the time when i drove by. i did have an 87 turbo but sold it but now i got an rx8 but looking into gettin a 95 fd as soon as i can find one thats manual. oh yeah, theres a good amount of fc around the area. i only know a few of them but the others i just see here and there

Hey im fron Salinas. My friend has a 93 RX7. He got it for 1500 bucks. LOL its a hell of a nice car. The front is a little messed up but it runs. He fixed the control arm a week ago. All it needs is to be registered.

I'll second that flag!

Unless he bought it stolen? I'd say that would be a fair price for 1500.

I'm in the bay area as well, montery is a bit off... like 2hrs away.
