Wink NEW- passing CA smog check help thread!!

Lets get a new one going. Advice Failed HC 15 mph max 118 meas 163.
25 mph max 93 meas 135.

NO (%) double the average, but passed them. All stock 90 vert, all emissions still in place. New plugs, oil and filter, air filter, tps and bac fine on adj., and idle is steady at 800. Main Cat is shot, "removed" the guts. Will replacing the cat fix my HC issues? And don't tell me to pay BJ DINO, or UP *** CHINO for a fix.

Thanks

Got that close to passing with a gutted cat? That's pretty good.

Yes, replace the cat and #'s will go down.

Those numbers were before I gutted the cat. I'm sure that I would fail worse with it gutted, right? Anyone got one I could borrow for a day?

i just got mine to pass and i put on a magnaflow high flow cat with no pre cats and my meas idle was 21 and cruise was 11. and when i had them pre test it with no cat my idle was at 1300 and still climbing but my cruise was only 90. so i suggest getting a new cat. you will be amazed at how much it helps

IMO if you get a new cat to pass, remove it after the smog so it stays in a very good condition.

Listen to these prices: Kragen , universal-$85 , Bert Williams- bolt on, $485 and my favorite of all THE STEALERSHIP-sit down now, $2165!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I asked the guy if the price included blow jobs daily for a year, he said funny, that is the price. FO dealerships. What a piece of ****!
