New Motor is Dead.. Dam
Ok well. 630 miles, no boost, all stock. and dead 5k motor, whats next, I was just starting to enjoy my ride and it died and had to be towed home. Now it's back to driving the Subaru and dreaming whats it's like to have fun. Any suggestions where I can get a decent motor Localy (Norcal) as I have put a ton of work into the chassis.

Yeah, Karack didnt build it, I bought it built and complete from a renound builder, and they didnt change a $2.00 part that failed on my way home from Vacaville and caused it to have no wastegate controll and went full boost and lost an apex seal. and I was trying to be extra careful. I short shifted , kept the revs down temp was perfect, all was good till that hose went. now I need a motor.

If you don't want to publicly post the name of the shop please PM the shop name to me so I can keep it in my records of suspicious shop's to keep an eye out for.
How soon are you planning on having another engine built?
I'm in the process of getting my new shop going and could build you another engine if the previous engine builder refuses to build you a new one for free. As far as the detail's go I am working them out as well but it will be a simple build and warranty like most of the large rotary shop's do.
Rotary and a few other special car's are my side job's, my main work is on exotic car's IE. Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus, etc...

With stories like this I'm amazed that the rotary faithful can stay loyal.
Rotaries may have few moving parts but they have MANY failure critical systems.
In terms of a new motor I humbly suggest the classifieds on ls1tech.com...

If I had cash and time I'd be rockin the boinger...
But yeah..most shops don't warranty overboosting and overheating. I don't think they replace wastegate lines with rebuilds either...sucks that shop didn't catch it.
Also how did you overboost if you were short shifting and keeping the revs down? I pulled my WG line off my car to test something and I could keep the boost below 2psi no prob.
