Or buy a knock off POS Chinese copy from a company who doesn't care about anything but making a quick buck.

100000000000000% correct...and I am CHINESE! hahahaa...as long as the price is "fair" and not trying to rape me, I would def support a vendor that supports me. Mazdatrix is def not the cheapest out there, but I know they R&D it and they have good quality and been in the game for a LONG TIME. I remember going there when I was a youngin and freshman year at CSULB and buying air cleaner and headers etc.

oh yes...it worked well on you.

I agree, u get what u pay for. However a lot of things are designed here then shipped out to my homies in china to manufacture. How else would u get knock offs. For example, take a look at wacky's peg leg, designed by pirates, sent to china to duplicate.

I've had an ebay Miata short shifter that cost me $20 shipped for over 4 years now. It's been in my Turbo FB, my FC, and my current FB, and it works flawlessly...

Um, there never was a turbo FB. I'd be suspicious of anything this guy claims from now on.

If you want to make your shift stick shorter couldn't you just cut it?

The ebay short shifters are garbage..... some might work alright for a while, but they're cheaply made and I've uninstalled more than a few broken ones.

I have a mazdatrix s/s in my FC vert and the quality is much better, the shifting feels more solid too. Well worth the extra money.

Na, you can turbocharge a car without a cooler.

if I had the money, I would def go for maztrixs shifter. But since I don't, I recently bought $20 short shifter on my fc. And it was surprisingly better than what I expected. Bit notchy here and there. But at the end, it was 20 bucks man lol

ha. If you're easily bored skip this next bit then....

Elford Engineering, a Mazda dealer in Bournemouth, England and small engineering firm, offered a self-developed turbo upgrade to the FB. After extensive testing, Mazda UK offically licensed them to produce 500 "Elford Turbo" limited edition cars. It was an officially supported Mazda enterprise to the point where all Mazda technicians were trained on service and maintenance of the turbo cars. They ran a Garret AiResearch T04B with an SU carb and a comparatively high compression ratio of 9.4:1 with a completely unique exhaust system which necessitated ditching all the emissions nonsense, reactor, etc....which is why they didn't weigh any more than the stock car and also why they couldn't be offered for sale in the American market where the emissions laws were a lot stricter.

Developed approximately 160 bhp at 6k rpm with 150 lb ft at 4k. zero-sixty was around seven seconds, top speed approx 135mph...and reliability was spectacularly bad on the early models but a later switch to EFI increased reliability as did revised manifolds...after the company of Elford Turbo ltd had been listed to deal with the problems. They also boasted upgraded front brakes, a bodykit of airdam with driving lights, skirts and rear spoiler, Elford badging and model-specific gold Wolfrace wheels. Price was an eye-watering £10 900 of Her Majesty's finest pounds as opposed to £8750 for the base model, though a retro-conversion service was offered to existing customers. Price rose to £12000 by the end of the run, which did indeed run to about 500 models.

....none of this is especially funny, but it is true. Not especially useful to the OPs question about shortshifters, either. Errrrm, I've got a B&M one but I think they're OOP now so that's even less helpful. Sorry. It's great, though

Did you just copy some Wikipedia article and replace "Lancia" with "Ford"? Although, that does sound like 70's English reliability.

You should be a science-fiction writer.

Yes there is a 12A turbo, that came stock. I do know that you can turbocharge without an intercooler. I was stating I did not know if the FB with a 12A turbo came with one or not, which apparently it did not according to this picture of a 12a turbo engine.
