Let me (re) introduce myself:
Well I have been away from RX's for a while, and in addition this forum, so let me sort of re-introduce myself and my cars.
My name is Tyler, from east San Diego.
My very first car was an 87 GXL. It blew an o-ring.
So I got a replacement engine from the junkyard. Then the cedar fires came through and melted the backup engine literally INTO A PUDDLE OF ALUMINUM. The car didn't get torched, so no insurance check for it
Pics:

After that, I sold out and bought a 240... started doing drift...

...had this car for a while, did a bunch of events and competitions over about 3 years of time.
Then, got a job at Jim wolf technology (famous nissan tuner) as a machinist, and ...sold my nissan! for no good reason.
Bought a few motorcycles.. (love vintage bikes)

And then bought an older 200sx, planning on doing a turbo CA18DET swap.
Never panned out, so 1 year later, I have some cash,
and bought a piece of crap Turbo 2!
I will have pictures of it soon, for comic effect.
So, welcome back to RX7's, me.
I plan on running a stock engine for a while with a few reliability upgrades, and just restoring the car, with some suspension and interior + paint.
So that's that. Long post.
Holler if you live in S.D.

Do you do business there or anything? Or just know them.
Mike Smith is the man. Probably one of the nicest guys in the industry.
Clarke is also great too, he will make your head explode with information.

lol i swear every time clarke opens his mouth i get confused. that guy is so insanely smart its scary. it always takes the entire drive home for me to figure out/piece together what the hell he was talking about. super nice guy always willing to help.
and smith is probably one of the best mechanics i have ever met. super nice guy also always willing to help.
lol i was in there about a week ago and jim had a carb on the counter ( i dont recall what he was doing exactly) and i walked in back and was like "aw how cute a carburator" he was confused for a second that i actually knew what a carb was. then i reminded him i not only have the spec i have the FB too and he figured it out.

Haha!
Yeah if you want to kill 2 hours then ask Clarke a simple question about the new Skyline.
He will answer it by dissecting the entire car and telling you the origin of each piece and who designed it, what prefecture of japan the factory is, etc...
And Mikey is definitely the best mechanic I know.. just don't let him near any motorcycles. He's dropped my helmet probably 5 or 6 times.
