yeah, yeah, yeah.... I know... believe me, when I read Berryessa, I was borderline disappointed. Maybe I'll just walk the roads! I'm adding myself to the list. Of an Merv, you can drive my vert , hopefully it's not freezing so you can drive top down! And it's been 1 year and 2 days since the accident, so far no repeat incidents whoo-hoo!

At the ride last year, at the one of the stops I overheard some fellow 'rotorheads' talking about how they usually drive Berryessa, and it made me really question myself riding up there. Also, this was before misses decided it was a good idea to blow DYs around blind corners; I mean, why shouldn't you go in someone else's lane, regardless of your visibility; or lack thereof.he
I was 4-5 cars behind misses. We had to stop in the middle of a blind turn... I was the guy who jumped out of the passenger side of my friend's SA while yelling, "I'm in the crumple zone" as the cars behind us skidded to a stop just like we did.
After 2 or 3 cars stopped behind my friends, I ran across to the other side of the street where the FC went cliff diving. And there was a motorcyclist on a late early 2000 Gixxer stopped there looking down at the accident and I waived him past real fast trying to explain it's dangerous, as cars are skidding to a stop.
I'm torn because I love Rx7s and I love mountain roads, but being on my motorcycle through the twisties and canyons really takes it to a whole different level, and it really is amazing.
But when there's people at the stops talking about how they come at night and double lane-try-to-drift the corners, mixed with people who just driving reckless. Not including the fact it's a stock car, on tires so old they're literally cracking.
Not only is it embarassing to myself as an Rx7 driver and enthusiast, as well as an Rx7Club member. It's selfish and reckless.. not wreckless..
If we left 3 minutes earlier, motorcycle dude would have been dead, same as if he left 3 minutes later. So not only is it giving Rx7's a bad name but endangering people's life.
Sure, you can jump a FC off a 100foot cliff, roll between some trees and over a barbwire fence and be fine. I have nothing against that. The fact that you cross into the next lane is what bothers me. And it's not only damsil, because other people were bragging about it. "I'm so good at driving I don't need to stay in my lane" = "I don't have the skills to drive this fast on this road so I'll go out of my lane to make up for it"
I understand fast is fun, sideways & drifting are fun as well, but the consequences of doing it on a public road, in the middle of the day really aren't worth it. I'm amazed and thankful she wasn't hurt badly. I'd be more hurt jumping down there, and don't want to think what would have happened to me or my friends if we we're riding berryessa that day, instead of me going on an Rx7 ride through Berryessa.
But if I was riding my bike there and she went over = I'd be dead. If you're on a bike leaned over through a corner and someone is only in 1/3 of your lane, guess what: Your lane is 33% smaller.
Sorry for ranting, but I just love Rx7s and Berryessa, but I love motorcycles and other's safety, on top of the fact most drivers are retarded anyways.

I wont say that I haven't done anything wreckless but just remember life is about safety and fun.

Yeah that cruise was a little too big...when I've gone with smaller groups even at night when we drive a lot faster we make the rules:
ALWAYS stay in your lane no matter what. If you can't you're driving too fast.
ALWAYS keep a LARGE space between the car in front of you just in case.
ALWAYS be wary of brake fade-if your brakes are fading, slow the **** down.
ALWAYS jimmy up so you don't get funkjaw pregnant like I did.
